Coronavirus has changed everything in life for the time being. Some of us are working from home, or not at all, and all of the key workers are busier than they have ever been. Some of us are playing teacher and teaching the kids while they are off school, some of us are missing our loved ones and cna’t wait until we can see them again, no matter which situation you have found yourselves in we have all found ourselves in the life of the unknown and not being able to go out and enjoy ourselves like we are used to.
One of the things all of our burlesque lovelies will be missing is of course burlesque. Whether it’s coming to one of our classes or going to watch a burlesque show. Many of us are just simply feeling the burlesque blues. But fear not, we have some tips and treats for you to enjoy the wonders of burlesque from your very own living room.
Here are 5 ways you can still indulge you burlesque needs whilst living in lockdown:
Join Us On Zoom
The best news is that you can still keep on dancing from the comfort of your own living room. We have online zoom classes which are available to all of our burlesque lovelies from all of our classes and all you burlesque lovelies that want to come and join one of our classes when we reopen. These are live classes where we teach our fabulous routines in the same way as we teach them in our classes. They’re all broken down step by step to make them easy for you to follow.
All you need is the Zoom app to join in and each class is £2.00 a week.
Monday Nights 8.30pm - 9.30pm
Wednesday Nights 8.30pm - 9.30pm
For those who would rather learn in their own time, we also have a monthly tutorial class for you to do in your own time. You will learn one of our fabulous routines which are broken down for you to follow step by step making it easy for you to learn. You are given login details for you to log in to our website and the tutorials are available to you throughout the lockdown period for £5.00 a month.
Make Those Costumes Sparkle
While you are stuck at home why not add some sparkle into your lockdown by creating that rhinestone bra or rhinestone some hot pants ready for when you can get back on that stage. You don’t have to be an expert seamstress to make your own burly bits. All you need is a bra or bottoms of your choosing and some sparkly gems. Get creative with the glitter, lace, and rhinestones and see what you can create.
If our Annual Show is able to go ahead in November this year just think how fabulous you will look now you have got some time on your hands, lets get creative ladies….
Practice Your Makeup Skills
While we are all at home it’s the perfect time to try some new makeup techniques ready for when we are able to get back on that stage. Take some time out and mix and match some bold colours and see what makeup looks you can create. Maybe you want to go for an all-out dramatic look to go with your theatrical routine, or simply just want to learn how to create that classic burlesque look. There is no time like the present we all have oodles of time and if it goes wrong it doesn’t matter just have your makeup remover ready so you can wipe it all off and get ready to start again. There are thousands of makeup tutorials on youtube, and there is also the option of visiting Beauty By PARIS when the salon reopens. Experience the one on one makeup tutorial and be shown how to create the look you want to create, you can then to take your skills home with you and practice till your heart’s content and who knows you may even create a look of your own…
Work On Your Show Routine
Now is that perfect time to get on youtube and listen to some tunes, watch some performers, be inspired and get creative. Many of us have an idea for a routine or a song that sticks in our minds which we don’t stop thinking about. During this lockdown is the perfect time to make a start, get in the garden or empty the living room, and put the wheels in motion. Not only will you be satisfying your burlesque needs, but it also gives you a project to focus on and keep your mind occupied whilst you are stuck at home. Just think if we are able to host our Annual Show in November and you start now you certainly have the time to be confident with your own routine and be ready to own that stage…
Join Us At Quarantease Lounge
Although none of us can go and watch any burlesque shows at the moment, you are welcome to join us on the last Saturday of each month for Quarantease Lounge. Each month 10 of our fabulous burlesque lovelies will perform their solo routines from their homes and we host our very own online burlesque show through zoom. This is the perfect opportunity for us all to have a night together to relax and enjoy each others company while watching some of the wonders from Burlesque With Paris. It is the one thing all of our burlesque lovelies look forward to and a way we can all be together while we wait for the return of our classes and shows.
