Welcome to Burlesque With Paris. I am Paris Chantilly, and I am so excited to share a little more about myself, my journey into burlesque, and why teaching this beautiful art form means so much to me.
Burlesque With Paris is not just a dance school. It is a community, a celebration, and a place where confidence grows and self love flourishes.
When I think about the world of burlesque, my heart fills with excitement and wonder. Burlesque is unlike anything else. It is full of beauty, creativity, empowerment, and freedom of expression.
I have been incredibly lucky to train and dance with some of the most talented performers in the UK, and those experiences have truly changed my life. Two very special friends of mine, Garry and Stephen, also known as The DreamGirls Drag Queens, introduced me to the mesmerising world of burlesque. Their support and encouragement played a huge role in shaping my journey, and I will always be grateful to them.
Becoming Paris Chantilly, slipping into my sparkly costumes, dancing with my fans, and sprinkling petals across the stage is one of the most magical feelings I have ever known. Performing burlesque is one of my proudest achievements and something I treasure deeply.
Why I Started Burlesque With Paris
I started Burlesque With Paris because I wanted to bring the joy of burlesque to Yorkshire and help others build confidence and self-esteem along the way.
I wanted to create a fun, welcoming space where people could shimmy, wiggle, laugh, and enjoy time just for themselves. A place where friendships are made and everyone feels included.
So many of us settle into busy lives, caring for others, raising families, and putting ourselves last. Burlesque With Paris gives people the opportunity to let go, have fun, and reconnect with who they are. It is about learning to like yourself, appreciate your body, and celebrate your femininity in a way that feels empowering and joyful.
I absolutely love bringing groups together and watching confidence bloom. Burlesque With Paris is about celebrating you for being you.
What I Love Most About Being an Instructor
My favourite thing about teaching is watching confidence grow. I often meet people who come to class feeling nervous and unsure, believing they will never have the confidence to perform.
Then something incredible happens. When show routines begin, those same people step onto the stage smiling, glowing, and having the time of their lives. Seeing that transformation fills me with pride every single time.
Watching my burlesque lovelies discover their confidence and feel good about themselves is why I love what I do.
How Burlesque Helps Build Body Confidence
Burlesque celebrates everybody. There is no single burlesque body type. Everybody is welcome, and everybody belongs.
Burlesque gives people the chance to feel good about themselves and learn to love the skin they are in. It is empowering, uplifting, and one of the most inclusive art forms I know.
What I Love Most About Burlesque
One of the things I love most about burlesque is how it brings people together. There is no specific gender, background, or type of person needed to enjoy it.
Burlesque is truly for everyone. It creates shared joy, confidence, and connection both on and off the stage.
My Favourite Burlesque Performers
I have so many favourite performers that it is hard to choose. Two legendary performers I truly admire are Sally Rand and Gypsy Rose Lee.
Among today’s performers, my favourites include Lou Safire, whose Black Swan routine is magical to watch, Khandie Khisses, who is full of fierce energy, and Lilly SnatchDragon, a comedy performer who lights up the room and brings so much joy to the stage.
How Burlesque Has Changed My Life
Burlesque has changed my life in so many ways. I am more confident than I have ever been, more content with who I am, and genuinely happier.
It has given me something I truly love and something that continues to inspire me every day.
My Most Empowering Burlesque Moments
Every time I step onto the stage and become Paris Chantilly feels empowering. I love everything about performing, from the costumes and music to the incredible reaction from the audience.
Being on stage allows me to fully express myself, and it never stops feeling magical.

How I Chose the Name Paris Chantilly
My stage name was chosen by my two best friends, Garry and Stephen. When they suggested Paris Chantilly, I fell in love with it instantly.
They were such an important part of introducing me to burlesque, and because of that, the name holds deep personal meaning for me.
My Advice for Anyone Thinking About Trying Burlesque
Do not overthink it. Just come along and try a class.
Burlesque is fun, empowering, and such a beautiful experience. Once you start, you will not want to stop.
