Making a Splash with Cell Block Tango
One of the most defining moments in the Featherstone Follies’ first year came at the Burlesque Ball Show on 3rd November 2018 at Drax Social Club. Taking to the stage for their debut group performance, the Follies delivered a powerful and unforgettable routine to Cell Block Tango. For many, this was their very first time performing in front of an audience, making the moment even more significant.
Transforming into fierce and commanding characters, the performers embraced the drama and storytelling of the routine with confidence and conviction. The atmosphere in the room was electric as the audience responded with rapturous applause, affirming the strength and presence of the group. Confidence Captured Through a Burlesque Makeover and Photo Shoot
In January 2019, a selection of Featherstone Follies took part in a Burlesque Makeover and Photo Shoot, an experience that proved to be both empowering and transformative. This was not just about costumes and glamour, but about seeing themselves through a new lens that celebrated confidence, strength, and individuality.
With professional styling and photography, each participant explored their burlesque persona and embraced their unique presence. The resulting images captured elegance, empowerment, and self belief, serving as lasting reminders of how far they had come in their burlesque journey. Sharing this experience deepened the bonds within the group and reinforced the supportive spirit that defines Featherstone Follies.

Joining Forces at The Revelry of Tease
Featherstone Follies continued to grow in confidence and stage presence when they joined forces with the Goole Goddesses, Selby Starlets, and Selby Sirens for The Revelry of Tease on 30th March 2019 at Victoria Social Club in Goole. This collaborative show was a true celebration of the Burlesque With Paris community.
Alongside their class routine, Featherstone Follies showcased solo performances from Coral Kisses, Sundae Amour, Minnie Sapphire, and Roxie Rocket. Performing alongside fellow troupes allowed the Follies to step further into the spotlight, share the stage with confidence, and embrace the joy of collaboration. The audience response was overwhelmingly positive, marking another milestone in the group’s growing journey.

A Year of Dance, Props and Performance
Throughout the year, Featherstone Follies explored a rich variety of burlesque styles and routines, each bringing its own creative challenges and rewards. Under the guidance of Burlesque With Paris, the class embraced both classic and contemporary burlesque, learning how to use movement, musicality, and props to enhance storytelling on stage.
Over the year, Featherstone Follies mastered and performed a diverse selection of routines including S and M with floggers, Sparkling Diamonds with no props, Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps using ostrich fans, Singing in the Rain with umbrellas, That Man with trilby hats, Welcome to Burlesque with gloves and boas, Candyman with canes, These Boots Are Made for Walking, and their annual show routine Cell Block Tango. Each routine contributed to their growth as performers and strengthened their confidence both on and off the stage.
Celebrating One Sparkling Year
As Featherstone Follies celebrate their first anniversary, it is clear that this year has been about far more than choreography. It has been a journey of courage, creativity, laughter, and self discovery.
