Celebrating One Year of Hull Honeys
A Year in the Life of Hull Honeys
Celebrating Confidence, Community, and Burlesque Magic
Today we celebrate a full year of empowering burlesque with the incredible ladies of Hull Honeys. As we mark this first anniversary, it feels only right to pause and reflect on the journey we have shared together. From the very first steps into the studio to the laughter, learning, and confidence built along the way, this year has been filled with growth, courage, and connection. Hull Honeys has become far more than a dance class. It is a supportive community where confidence is nurtured, and individuality is celebrated.
The Birth of Hull Honeys
In the heart of Hull, a vision came to life under the guidance of the passionate and inspiring Paris. Hull Honeys was created as a welcoming space where women could explore the art of burlesque free from judgement, expectations, or pressure. From the earliest classes, it was clear this was something special. Women from all walks of life came together, each bringing their own stories, experiences, and reasons for stepping into burlesque.
Those first weeks were filled with excitement and anticipation, as confidence slowly began to bloom. What started as a group of individuals quickly became a sisterhood. Through shared challenges, laughter, and small victories, Hull Honeys grew into a space where femininity, strength, and self-expression could thrive. It was never just about learning routines. It was about feeling seen, supported, and empowered.
Embracing the Glamour at Our Burlesque Makeovers
One of the standout moments of the year was the Burlesque Makeover and Photo Shoot in March 2019. This experience offered the Hull Honeys a chance to fully step into their burlesque personas and see themselves through a new lens. For many, it was a powerful moment of self-acceptance and pride.
Standing in front of the camera, adorned in burlesque glamour, these ladies radiated confidence. The resulting photographs captured more than beautiful images. They captured courage, growth, and the joy of embracing who you are. These moments became lasting reminders of just how transformative burlesque can be.

Rehearsals and the Road to the Stage
As the Burlesque Ball approached, excitement in the studio reached new heights. The Hull Honeys began rehearsing their first class routine to the sultry sounds of Feeling Good. With Paris guiding every step, rehearsals became a blend of focus, encouragement, and celebration.
Each class brought progress, whether through mastering choreography, refining technique, or simply finding the confidence to perform with intention. The anticipation of stepping onto the stage together bonded the group even further, reinforcing the trust and connection they had built throughout the year.
A Year of Props, Routines, and Discovery
Looking back over the year, the Hull Honeys have explored a rich variety of burlesque styles, each bringing new challenges and opportunities for self expression. From elegant glove work to the dramatic sweep of ostrich fans and the bold confidence of floggers, every routine added another layer to their burlesque journey.
Throughout the year, the Hull Honeys mastered and performed a range of routines, including Welcome To Burlesque with gloves and boas, Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps with ostrich fans, S and M with floggers, and I Just Want To Make Love To You using boas. Each routine allowed the class to explore different facets of burlesque while building confidence and stage presence.
