DIY Burlesque How To Make A Flower Hair Slide
Creating your own burlesque hair accessories is a fun and affordable way to add glamour to your costume. How to Make Your Flower Hair Slide
Begin by preparing your silk flowers. Using scissors, cut the flower heads away from the stems at the base of the flower. With some silk flower bunches, the heads may pull away from the stems without cutting.
Next, take your felt and cut it into small square pieces, roughly 2cm by 2cm, as shown in pic 1. These felt squares will help secure the hair clip to the flower and provide extra strength.
Using your glue gun, apply glue to the centre of the underside of the silk flower head where the stem was removed, as shown in pic 2. While the glue is still warm, position a crocodile hair clip onto the glue and hold it in place. Make sure there is enough glue to secure the clip firmly. Leave this to set for a couple of minutes, as shown in pic 3.

Once the clip has set, add glue to one of your felt squares using the glue gun, as shown in pic 4. Open the crocodile clip and carefully place the felt square over the underside of the flower head and the clip, as shown in pic 5. Press gently to secure. This extra layer of felt helps keep the crocodile clip firmly attached to the flower.
Once everything has dried, your flower hair slide is complete and ready to wear.
