Introducing Burlesque For Belonging

Empowerment. Expression. Community.

We’re proud to launch Burlesque for Belonging—a new project delivering free and low-cost burlesque-inspired workshops to communities across Yorkshire and Humberside.

These workshops are all about making the magic of burlesque accessible to everyone, especially those who may not always feel seen or included in traditional dance or wellness spaces. Through playful movement, storytelling, and connection, participants are invited to explore joy, self-worth, and identity—all within a supportive, inclusive environment.

Whether you’re joining us for fun, for healing, or for a new sense of belonging, these workshops are for you.

Coming soon: Dates, locations, and sign-up info for our 2025 and 2026 workshop tours.

Keep an eye out for updates—your invitation to belong, shine, and shimmy is just around the corner.

Because every body deserves to feel powerful, beautiful, and free.

Meet The Burlesque For Belonging Committee

Building Community Through Confidence, Creativity, and Connection

The Burlesque for Belonging Committee is the heart and soul behind our mission to make burlesque more accessible, inclusive, and empowering for communities across Yorkshire and Humberside.

Made up of passionate performers, educators, creatives, and community advocates, our committee works collaboratively to design and deliver free and low-cost workshops, events, and outreach initiatives that celebrate diversity, body confidence, and self-expression.

Together, we champion the belief that burlesque is for every body—regardless of age, gender, size, background, or experience. Through movement, storytelling, and shared joy, we create welcoming spaces where everyone can feel seen, celebrated, and connected.

We’re proud to be part of a growing movement that places belonging and wellbeing at the centre of the arts, and we can’t wait to bring even more sparkle, sass, and support to our communities.

Because when we feel like we belong—we shine.
