Quarantease Lounge Part One | 30 May 2020
Dancing in Living Rooms A Night to Remember with Burlesque With Paris
In a time when the world felt uncertain and social distancing reshaped everyday life, the art of burlesque found a bold and beautiful way to adapt. Enter Quarantease Lounge, a virtual sanctuary where performers and audiences could come together from their own living rooms to celebrate tease, creativity, and connection. Hosted by Burlesque With Paris, the very first Quarantease Lounge on 30 May became a shining reminder that burlesque is not confined by walls, stages, or circumstance.
As the clock ticked closer to showtime, thirty-four attendees settled in front of glowing screens, ready to be transported. Months of preparation had led to this moment, a digital curtain poised to lift on a night of glamour, confidence, and unforgettable performance. Though physically apart, performers and audience were united by anticipation, excitement, and the shared heartbeat of the Burlesque With Paris community. This was not simply a show. It was a testament to resilience, creativity, and the unbreakable spirit of burlesque.
Opening the evening was Mermaid Kisses from Featherstone Foxes, who marked her debut solo performance with elegance and command. Draped in a sleek black silk gown, she captivated the virtual audience as the opening notes of Feeling Good filled the room. With measured grace, she revealed a striking red bustle and matching lingerie, followed by a slow, sensual glove removal that drew admiration from every screen. It was a confident and mesmerising opening that set the tone for the night ahead.
Next to grace the virtual stage was Heather Ann Lace of Selby Sirens. Clad in black, wearing a laced corset, flowing skirt, and long gloves, she performed to I Get Off with magnetic confidence. Each movement told a story of empowerment and allure, building to the reveal of her black ostrich fans. Her performance concluded in a stunning peacock pose, earning a wave of digital applause and proving that classic burlesque artistry translates beautifully to the virtual stage.
The energy intensified with Vesuvius from Hull Honeys, who erupted onto the screen with a fiery voodoo inspired performance. Layer by layer, her costume was shed with explosive confidence, from hat to trousers to gloves, revealing a jewelled bra and pants beneath. Her act culminated in powerful tassel twirling that radiated energy through the digital space. Bold, fearless, and electric, her performance reminded everyone that burlesque thrives wherever passion lives.
Minnie Sapphire from Featherstone Follies followed with theatrical flair, performing to Sweet Transvestite. Blending precision lip syncing with sensual choreography, she removed gloves and stockings with impeccable timing, engaging the audience with every expression. Her act was a perfect fusion of theatre and tease, leaving a lasting impression and highlighting the diversity of burlesque storytelling.
Bringing classic elegance to the screen was Luna La Rouge, performing to Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps. With blue ostrich fans in hand, she moved with timeless grace, her long leg lines and refined fan technique creating a hypnotic visual experience. Her final peacock pose was breathtaking, embodying the enduring beauty of classic burlesque reimagined for the digital age.
As the first half came to a close, the virtual room buzzed with excitement and conversation. Khandie Khisses kept the energy high during the interval, showcasing dazzling costume pieces and engaging the audience, ensuring anticipation remained at its peak for the second half.
The second half opened with Miss Belle Bombshell from Hull Honeys, whose Welcome to Burlesque routine was a masterclass in tease. Channeling the golden age of burlesque, she commanded attention with every elegant movement, drawing viewers deeper into the heart of the art form with poise and magnetic charm.
A standout debut followed from Pink Champagne of Selby Sirens. Performing to But I Am a Good Girl, she balanced innocence with bold confidence in a corset and fishnets, delivering a captivating solo that showcased her natural stage presence and deep understanding of burlesque storytelling.
Injecting British humour and cheeky satire was Pixie Bella from Selby Starlets. Her performance to I’m British was playful, bold, and brilliantly inventive, complete with Piers Morgan pasties that had the audience laughing and cheering. Her act proved that burlesque is as much about personality and wit as it is about reveal.
Amethyst Delight from Featherstone Foxes brought sultry sophistication to the stage with a performance to Earned It. Using a red silk sash and chair, she crafted a narrative of temptation and control, revealing a beautifully designed corset and shorts before unveiling red tassels to thunderous applause.
The evening concluded in spectacular fashion with Paris Chantilly, whose Love Me Like You Do routine was the perfect finale. With ostrich fans, jewelled pasties, and flawless musicality, her performance was sensual, elegant, and emotionally charged. Every movement spoke of confidence, artistry, and the enduring power of burlesque. The virtual audience responded with overwhelming applause, celebrating a night that had truly lifted spirits.
As the screens slowly dimmed, the Quarantease Lounge buzzed with animated conversation and shared joy. Despite lockdown, connection had flourished. Burlesque had once again proven its ability to unite, inspire, and entertain in even the most challenging times.
