Shimmy Into Monday Nights with Paris Chantilly and the Zoomets
During lockdown, many of us had to find new ways to stay connected and keep active. For me, Monday evenings quickly became a highlight of the week as I danced with my wonderful Zoomets in our online burlesque classes. These sessions offered laughter, movement, and connection at a time when it was needed most.
July brought with it a fun and energetic routine set to the upbeat track Candyman. Each class was filled with excitement as we danced together from our own homes, sharing energy, encouragement, and a whole lot of sparkle.
The Month of July Candyman Routine
The Candyman routine became a true highlight for my Zoomets. The lively beat and playful tempo brought an infectious burst of energy to every class, making it impossible not to smile while dancing along. Even through a screen, the enthusiasm and determination from every dancer could be felt.
This routine was about more than learning choreography. It was about escaping the worries of the outside world and embracing joy through movement. Watching each Zoomet grow in confidence and really throw themselves into the routine was incredibly inspiring. Although we were dancing apart, the shared experience made it feel as though we were all together in the same room.
There was plenty of laughter as fitness trackers buzzed and spirits lifted. Learning to dance in sync online came with its challenges, but those moments were met with creativity, encouragement, and a strong sense of togetherness. Candyman became a reminder of how powerful music and dance can be when it comes to lifting moods and keeping us connected.
The move to online classes also sparked some fantastic creativity. Household items were transformed into burlesque props, proving that burlesque is about imagination rather than perfection. Garden canes and hoover pipes quickly became glamorous accessories, each one reflecting the personality and flair of the dancer using it.
Our Classes Are Reopening
The excitement around returning to in-person burlesque classes has been building among myself and all my Zoomets. While online classes have been a joy, there is something truly special about sharing the same physical space, dancing side by side, and feeling that collective energy in the room.
Our return to the studio marks more than just the reopening of classes. It represents resilience, community, and the strength we have built together throughout this journey. Our first classes back will feel like a homecoming, bringing together friends who have supported one another through every step.
