A Spectacular Comeback and a Joyful Return to the Burlesque Stage
On the 6th of May, Burlesque With Paris proudly returned to the stage with our first live show since the Coronavirus pandemic, hosted at the Girnhill Club in Featherstone. After months of anticipation, it was a night that truly proved worth the wait, delivering a spectacular evening of glamour, tease, and unforgettable burlesque performances.
Performers from Goole Goddesses, Featherstone Follies, Featherstone Foxes, Selby Sirens, Selby Starlets, Hull Harlots, and Hull Honeys came together to create a show bursting with confidence, creativity, and show-stopping routines. The venue was filled with family, friends, and Burlesque With Paris supporters, the atmosphere buzzing with excitement as the audience eagerly awaited the return of live burlesque.
As the lights dimmed, the electric energy in the room intensified and our host for the evening, Khandie Khisses, took to the stage. With her signature charisma and commanding presence, she set the tone for a night filled with The Revelry Of Tease, warming the crowd and igniting the excitement before the first act even began.
Opening the show, Scarlett Vixen, Midnight Muse, and Miss Cocoa Noire from Hull Harlots captivated the audience in lustrous satin gowns, performing to Lust For Life. Their elegant fan work unfolded into a striking reveal of black and red lingerie, layered with double fan choreography that showcased precision, confidence, and undeniable stage presence. Their performance set a powerful standard for the night ahead.
Stepping into the spotlight, Pink Champagne from Selby Starlets delivered a mesmerising solo to Tin Roof Blues, adorned in a green peacock costume and wielding purple peacock fans. Her graceful leg lines, fluid fan work, and polished stage presence earned rapturous applause, marking a stunning solo moment that left the audience spellbound.
From the Goole Goddesses, Femme Fatal commanded attention with her darkly seductive performance to Dark Horse. Dressed in a Maleficent-inspired costume, she blended bump and grind with hypnotic poi work, dramatic floorwork, and a bold costume reveal that held the audience in the palm of her hand.
Delicious Denise of Selby Sirens brought playful glamour to the stage with My Discarded Men. Teasing the crowd with her pink boa, glove removals, sparkling costume reveals, and a breathtaking Isis wings finale, she delivered a performance bursting with charm, confidence, and classic burlesque flair.
Making their debut as a duo, Ruby July and Lucretia Velvet set the stage alight with I Wanna Be Your Slave. Their contrasting characters, strong chemistry, and bold choreography created a dynamic and dramatic routine that earned roaring applause from the audience.
Peaches LaMore from Goole Goddesses embraced wicked glamour in her rendition of I Wanna Be Evil. Beginning with a satin gown and lip-sync, she transitioned into chair work and a striking silk fan dance, delivering a powerful, seductive performance that radiated confidence and control.
From Hull Honeys, Kitty Darling and Lady Demure enchanted the audience with My Baby Just Cares For Me. Their black corsets, red accents, and flawless boa technique combined elegance with cheeky interaction, creating a routine full of warmth, humour, and undeniable chemistry.
Southern Comfort of Featherstone Foxes brought sultry confidence to the stage with Hanky Panky. Her bump and grind, expressive lip-sync, and commanding presence made her solo performance a standout moment of the evening.
As the first half came to a close, the audience buzzed with excitement, the interval alive with conversation, applause, and anticipation for what was still to come.
In a surprise twist that delighted the audience, the stage transformed into a playful Boylesque moment led by the ever-charismatic Khandie Khisses. Ivan and Guy were plucked from the crowd and guided through their cheeky debut with confidence, humour, and plenty of encouragement from the room. Armed with black boas, the pair embraced the spirit of tease, opening and closing them with theatrical flair, playfully “revealing” salad boxes and hamming it up for the crowd. The routine built to a hilarious crescendo with the unveiling of a bold “five-year guarantee,” sending the audience into fits of laughter and applause. It was light-hearted, inclusive, and unapologetically fun, a reminder that burlesque is about joy, confidence, and celebrating performance in all its forms. This Boylesque interlude added an unexpected spark to the evening and perfectly embodied the playful spirit of The Revelry Of Tease.
Heather Ann Lace delivered a dramatic transformation performance, beginning sweetly with My Boy Lollipop before shifting into a dark, commanding dominatrix routine to Tainted Love. Her contrast of innocence and power, completed with fan work and bold reveals, left the audience in awe.
From Hull Harlots, Holli Daze embodied vintage glamour in her solo to I Wanna Be Loved By You. Dressed in pink tassels and white accessories, her classic striptease and confident pasties reveal earned warm applause and admiration.
Emerald Divine captivated the room with her elegant fan dance to La Vie En Rose. Dressed in black and gold with matching fans, her graceful movements and polished choreography delivered a timeless, romantic burlesque moment.
Returning to the stage, Femme Fatal stunned once again with her performance to River. Combining chair work, floorwork, and a series of dramatic costume reveals, she delivered an emotionally charged routine that showcased her versatility and artistry.
A tribute to The Rocky Horror Picture Show followed as Cupid Stunt and Emerald Fuego brought bold characterisation, lip-syncing, and playful choreography to the stage, delighting the audience with their theatrical energy.
From Selby Sirens, Jaja L’amore delivered a chilling and powerful performance to Being Evil Has A Price. Her Isis wings, dramatic transformation, and commanding fan work created one of the most visually striking routines of the evening.
Lucious Lizzie of Featherstone Follies brought classic tease to life with Black Velvet. Her slow, deliberate striptease, impeccable bum rolls, and playful audience connection reminded everyone why timing and confidence are at the heart of burlesque.
Closing the show, Coral Kisses delivered a glamorous finale to Patricia The Stripper. With flawless boa work, elegant reveals, and commanding stage presence, she brought the evening to a stunning and satisfying close.
This Burlesque With Paris show marked a powerful return to live performance, celebrating artistry, confidence, and the joy of being back on stage. Every performer brought something unique, creating a night filled with glamour, laughter, seduction, and unforgettable burlesque magic.
