“I love and look forward to attending my class every week. It’s a place where I can let my hair down, have a giggle, and just dance.

I adore how much freedom the class routines give you as a dancer. Paris Chantilly allows us to put our own personality into the routines. Every one of the dancers is seen as special and is encouraged to create their own burlesque persona.

As Crimson Babydoll, I can be fun, flirty, and a bit cheeky, and because of the positive and supportive atmosphere, it inspires lots of confidence amongst us all.

The ladies in the class are a beautiful and diverse mix of people who have come from all walks of life- nobody is judgmental, and we are all there for the same thing- to dance and have fun. I have adored getting to know these ladies, and I consider some of them to be my best friends. They are kind, caring, and supportive, and if I’ve had a rubbish week, I know if I get myself to class, they will cheer me up. During shows, the ladies whoop and cheer so much- making us as performers feel confident and powerful on stage!

Paris Chantilly is great in class, giving us a real mix of routines from boas to ostrich feather fans, to organza fans, to chair routines and classic burlesque dances. She is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about her discipline, and this comes across in class. She is warm and kind to all, and she brings out so much confidence in us. I was quiet, and I hated my body when I started with Paris - I loved dancing and performing, but I just didn’t have the confidence to do this, thanks to Paris. In the recent show, I did 4 routines and was honored to be asked to close the annual show this year!

If you are worried about the implications burlesque might have on your personal life, don’t be. I have a job where no pictures or videos can be shown, and Paris is great at ensuring that everyone’s anonymity is kept. Also, Paris is great at understanding that not everybody wishes to take clothing off on stage and encourages everybody in the class to wear what they feel comfortable wearing, and allows us to show our personalities through our costumes.

Overall, coming to class and dancing with my friends. It’s a real highlight in my week and every lesson you can guarantee I’ll giggle, smile, and get fit while doing so!”
