Stage Confidence and Tassels and Assels Workshops With Khandie Khisses

An Empowering Burlesque Workshop Experience in Yorkshire

On 22 April, burlesque dancers from across Yorkshire came together for a special workshop day with the incredible Khandie Khisses. Hosted as part of the Burlesque With Paris workshop series, the event featured two inspiring sessions focused on performance confidence and classic burlesque skills.

Participants left the day feeling empowered, confident, and ready to step into the spotlight.

Building Presence and Power Through Stage Confidence

The Stage Confidence workshop focused on learning how to command attention and connect with an audience. Khandie guided participants through the importance of posture, eye contact, and intentional movement when performing on stage.

Rather than hiding nerves, dancers learned how to transform nervous energy into confidence and presence. Through simple but powerful techniques, participants discovered how to own the stage, communicate without words, and project assurance through their movement and gaze.

This workshop encouraged performers to trust themselves and embrace their natural charisma.

Exploring Playfulness in Tassels and Assels

The Tassels and Assels workshop introduced dancers to the playful and flirtatious side of burlesque. Participants learned the fundamentals of tassel and assel twirling in a fun, supportive, and laughter-filled environment.

Khandie demonstrated how tassel work is about expression, personality, and storytelling, not just technique. With guidance and encouragement, dancers explored movement, rhythm, and confidence while embracing body positivity and self-expression.

This session celebrated individuality and reminded participants that burlesque is about joy, confidence, and connection.

A Celebration of Confidence and Burlesque

Both workshops offered a safe and uplifting space for dancers to grow, explore, and build confidence. The day was a true celebration of burlesque as an empowering art form that supports creativity, self-love, and personal expression.
