Cover Me In Sunshine - 2022

The Unforgettable Beginnings

The Goole Goddesses began as more than just a burlesque class. From the very first sessions, it was clear this would be a sanctuary where women could explore confidence, creativity, and connection. Under the guidance of Paris Chantilly, the studio quickly became a space filled with laughter, encouragement, and empowerment. Women from all walks of life came together, united by curiosity, courage, and a shared desire to try something new.

Those early routines laid the foundation for everything that followed. Learning to work with gloves, boas, and posture was not simply about choreography, it was about unlocking self-belief and celebrating individuality. Each Goddess was encouraged to embrace her body, her personality, and her unique sparkle. Friendships formed naturally, confidence grew weekly, and the spirit of sisterhood became the heartbeat of the class.

Overcoming Adversity Together

Like so many communities, the Goole Goddesses faced challenges during the global pandemic. The studio fell quiet, routines were paused, and the familiar rhythm of weekly classes was suddenly gone. Yet even in that uncertainty, the spirit of the Goole Goddesses remained strong.

When classes reopened in June 2021, the return to the studio was deeply emotional and incredibly powerful. Stepping back onto the dance floor reminded everyone just how vital burlesque had become to their wellbeing. The time apart strengthened bonds, renewed purpose, and added even greater depth to performances. Every step forward was a celebration of resilience, connection, and the joy of dancing together again.

vulnerability in a performance that resonated deeply with the audience. Her ability to convey profound emotion through dance, captivating onlookers with each meticulously choreographed move, underscored her exceptional talent and dedication to the craft.

A Journey Told Through Routines and Rhythm

Across six spectacular years, the Goole Goddesses have built a rich and varied burlesque repertoire, with each routine marking a new chapter in their journey of confidence, creativity, and self expression. From the very beginning, classic foundations such as Welcome To Burlesque introduced the art of tease through gloves and boas, allowing dancers to step into character and discover the power of posture, presence, and performance.

As confidence grew, routines like Feeling Good and Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps brought elegance and drama to the forefront, with ostrich fans adding layers of mystery and control. These fan dances became a signature for the group, teaching precision, timing, and the beauty of reveal and conceal. The theatrical flair of All That Jazz, performed both as a class routine and later with trilby hats and fringe skirts, showcased the Goddesses’ ability to blend Broadway glamour with burlesque attitude, lighting up the stage at the Burlesque Ball.

Seasonal sparkle arrived with Santa Baby, a playful routine that proved props aren’t always necessary when confidence and character take centre stage. The sultry edge of Bump and Grind introduced gloves, boas, and sequin skirts, encouraging dancers to embrace grounded movement and bold sensuality, while Back In Time added a gypsy twist with coin skirts that brought rhythm and texture into every step.

More dramatic storytelling emerged through routines such as I Put A Spell On You, where gloves and boas enhanced the intensity of performance, and Smash, which returned to the power of ostrich fans with strong formations and striking visuals. Fire In My Head pushed creative boundaries further, incorporating flowing organza capes that allowed dancers to explore emotion, strength, and contemporary burlesque styling.

Each routine, from classic to neo burlesque, has played a vital role in shaping the Goole Goddesses’ identity. Together, these performances tell a story of growth, resilience, and artistic exploration, reflecting not just what the dancers have learned, but who they have become along the way. Through every glove peel, fan flourish, and dramatic pose, the Goole Goddesses continue to celebrate the transformative power of burlesque, six glittering years strong.

Looking Ahead

Six years on, the Goole Goddesses continue to shine brighter than ever. Their journey has been filled with growth, resilience, friendship, and unforgettable performances. With their unwavering spirit and passion for burlesque, the future promises even more creativity, confidence, and celebration.
