As we celebrate our 5th anniversary, it's a time to reflect on the journey we've taken, the challenges we've overcome, and the incredible talent that fills our class. From the glitz and glamour of the BurlesqueWithParis Burlesque Ball Show to the dedication and growth of our Heavenly Honeys, there's so much to celebrate and be proud of.

The Birth Of Hull Honeys…

Embarking on a journey of glitz, glamour, and empowerment, Hull Honeys first welcomed its members into a world where self-expression and confidence take centre stage. This ensemble of vibrant and spirited women came together with a shared passion for the art of burlesque, marking the inception of something truly remarkable. In the heart of Hull, a sanctuary was created where laughter echoed, friendships blossomed, and every individual was encouraged to embrace their uniqueness. The classes rapidly evolved into much more than a space to learn dance routines, they became a haven for fostering self-love, bravery, and a sense of belonging. As the curtains rose on this new adventure, the bond amongst the participants grew stronger, crafting a supportive network that empowered each Hull Honey to discover and polish their own dazzling persona on and off the stage. The sudden halt in March 2020, as the world grappled with the onset of the pandemic, presented a significant challenge for the Hull Honeys. The closure of the class not only paused their dance routines but also their cherished gatherings that had become a source of joy and empowerment. The period that followed was marked by uncertainty and a longing for the camaraderie and the vibrant energy that filled their sessions. Despite these trying times, the spirit of the Hull Honeys remained unbroken. Their resilience became a beacon of hope, illuminating the path to a triumphant return.

In June 2021, after months of anticipation, Hull Honeys reopened its doors, inviting both old and new members to rekindle their passion for burlesque. This reunion was more than just a continuation of classes, it was a testament to their unwavering determination and the strength of their bond. The challenges faced during the lockdown had not diminished their enthusiasm but instead had fuelled their eagerness to dance, celebrate life, and express themselves through the art of burlesque. A Night to Remember The Burlesque Ball Show 2021…

The 12th of November 2021 marked a significant milestone for Hull Honeys as we hosted our spectacular Burlesque With Paris Burlesque Ball Show at Drax Sports and Social Club. The evening was nothing short of magical, brimming with elegance, allure, and the palpable excitement of an audience eagerly anticipating the night's performances. The Hull Honeys, adorned in their exquisite costumes, took to the stage with a mesmerising class routine set against the evocative melodies of Pink Panther/007. Their performance was a masterclass in grace, precision, and the sheer joy of burlesque, leaving the audience utterly spellbound.

In a dazzling display of talent and camaraderie, four of our cherished Honeys – Sugarboo, Atomic Storm, Amethyst Moonshine, and Cherry Noir – united for a group performance that further elevated the evening's spectacle. Their expert use of fans in their choreography was nothing short of sublime, capturing the essence of burlesque with every graceful movement and flirtatious glance. These performances underscored the dedication, skill, and passion that define Hull Honeys, and provided unforgettable highlights in an evening packed with high-quality entertainment.

Amethyst Moonshine was honoured with the Star Of The Class 2021 award, a well-deserved accolade that reflects her outstanding performances and unwavering dedication throughout the year. Her ability to captivate and enchant the audience, coupled with her commitment to excellence, truly set her apart.

Miss Dedicated 2021 was awarded to Atomic Storm, a Hull Honey whose consistent hard work and passion have been the backbone of her journey in burlesque. Her relentless drive and dedication have not only elevated her own performances but have also inspired those around her to strive for their best.

Cherry Noir, with her remarkable trajectory of improvement and growth, was aptly named Miss Most Improved 2021. Her journey over the past year has been nothing short of inspiring, showcasing a commitment to personal and artistic development that has seen her shine as a performer.

Von Yr Neez received the accolade of Miss Dedicated 2022, recognising her persistent dedication and relentless drive to excel. Meanwhile, Midnight Muse was celebrated as Miss Most Improved 2022, highlighting her remarkable journey of growth and the immense strides she has made in honing her craft. These awards celebrated the individual achievements of these Heavenly Honeys, each of whom has shown exceptional growth in confidence and skill over the past two years, truly embodying the spirit and essence of burlesque with their contributions.

The array of props and themes the Hull Honeys have embraced speak volumes about their evolution. From the elegance of Ostrich Fans in routines like "Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps" and "Feeling Good", to the playful sophistication of Sequin Skirts & Trilby Hats in "That Man", each prop has been more than just an accessory; it's been a vehicle for storytelling, mood setting, and character embodiment.
