As the nights draw in, this month is about embracing deeper expression, bold presence, and that delicious sense of theatre burlesque does so well. Expect rich movement, confident storytelling, and plenty of sparkle with a darker edge.
October is your time to explore, experiment, and dance with intention, letting your confidence take on a whole new depth.
Term 7 Is In Full Swing
Term 7 is well underway, and the energy in the studio is incredible. Everyone has thrown themselves into their routines, and you can truly feel the excitement building as we count down to The Burlesque Ball next month. The dedication, focus, and confidence on display right now is something really special. Each class is doing an amazing job.
Drax Diamonds are embracing Country Showgirl Burlesque to “Hillbilly Rock.” With cowgirl hats, rip-off denim shorts, and shirts, their routine is packed with playful attitude, bold movement, and plenty of sass.
Featherstone Follies are shining across two performance groups this term. One group is delivering a strong, edgy Neo Burlesque routine to “Come Together,” using rip-off trousers, jackets, and shirts. The second group brings timeless glamour with Feather Fan Burlesque to “Dream a Little Dream,” dancing with luxurious ostrich fans and beautiful elegance.
Selby Sirens are also working across two stunning routines. One group is embracing Classic Burlesque to “Please Mr Jailer,” featuring satin gowns and gloves for a truly vintage feel. The second group brings bold confidence with Neo Burlesque to “Another One Bites the Dust,” using pimp sticks and trilby hats to powerful effect.
Selby Starlets are showcasing two contrasting styles this term. Their Neo Burlesque routine to “Maneater” features jackets and gloves with fierce attitude, while their Classic Burlesque routine to “Nasty Naughty Boy” highlights graceful tease with flowing organza boas.
Hull Harlots are exploring Bellyesque to “Babooshka,” blending fluid movement and expressive storytelling with the beautiful use of belly dance veils.
Doncaster Divas are bringing romance and drama to the floor with Feather Fan Burlesque to “Wolf & I,” using ostrich fans to create a striking and emotional performance.
Rounding out the term, Sugar Belles are turning up the energy with Neo Burlesque to “I Love Rock and Roll,” using floggers to deliver fierce confidence, edge, and powerful stage presence.
Every class is putting in the work, supporting one another, and truly stepping into their shine. Term 7 is shaping up to be something spectacular, and we are so proud of every single one of you.
