A Night Of Glittering Talent And Showgirl Magic

The Burlesque With Paris Burlesque Ball Part One brought a dazzling wave of glamour, artistry, and electrifying burlesque talent to Doncaster Little Theatre on 15 November, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of confidence, creativity, and sparkle. Beautifully captured by Khandie Photography, the evening celebrated emotional storytelling, show-stopping performances, and the magic that happens when a burlesque community comes together. Hosted by the charismatic John Celestus, the show unfolded with elegance, humour, and impeccable professional polish from start to finish.

As guests arrived, the theatre hummed with anticipation. Backstage, feathers, sequins, corsets, and glitter filled every corner as performers slipped into costume, sharing laughter, encouragement, and last-minute preparations. In the lobby, Paris Chantilly personally welcomed each guest with her signature warmth, immediately creating an atmosphere of class and connection. Alongside her, the fabulous stage manager Cupid Stunt oversaw every detail with flawless precision, ensuring the evening flowed effortlessly. The air buzzed with excited chatter, clinking glasses, sparkling outfits, and the unmistakable feeling that something truly special was about to begin.

The show opened with a vibrant burst of classic glamour as Fifi Whispers from Hull Harlots took to the stage with a captivating routine to Bossa Nova Baby by Elvis Presley. Gliding on in a dazzling purple sequin tassel dress paired with long black satin gloves, she exuded timeless showgirl charm from the very first beat. Her movements were confident and playful, each slow glove peel building anticipation. Midway through the performance, she released the top of her dress to reveal a shimmering sequin bra, followed by the dramatic drop of her tassel skirt to unveil sleek black pants adorned with a gleaming coin belt. Her joyous confetti pour finale cascaded from her final glove, igniting rapturous applause and setting a radiant tone for the night.

Old Hollywood glamour filled the stage as Jule’s Divine from Drax Diamonds delivered her debut solo to Why Don’t You Do Right? inspired by Jessica Rabbit. Draped in a floor-length red gown, complemented by deep purple satin gloves and a plush matching boa, she radiated vintage sophistication. Her movements were fluid and sensual, each gesture deliberate and refined. A smooth glove peel and cheeky bum roll drew delighted smiles from the audience, while her playful manipulation of the boa showcased both seduction and poise. As she slipped away her final glove and signed off with a flirtatious blown kiss, the theatre erupted into warm applause for a confident and polished solo debut.

The energy shifted dramatically as The Sugar Belles stormed the stage with a fiery group routine to I Love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett. Ruby Red, Mystique Riviera, Glamour Jules, Sapphire Rose, Miss Peach Fizz, Carrie De’Vine, Luna Rose, and Cherry Blossom were a commanding force in striking red and black leather and PVC, perfectly reflecting the raw, unapologetic power of the track. Their unity was magnetic, their choreography sharp, provocative, and fearless. Wielding floggers with dramatic flair, they teased and taunted before lifting them high in electrifying arcs. The routine culminated in a perfectly synchronised bra removal, revealing shimmering pasties, sending the crowd into wild cheers. Bold, rebellious, and bursting with attitude, their performance was a standout spectacle of the night.

Bringing cowgirl glamour to the stage, Lady Venus from Hull Harlots delivered a dynamic routine to Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma by Luke Combs. Dressed in denim shorts, a checkered shirt, a cowboy hat and boots, she embodied a fierce Western heroine with a seductive burlesque twist. Her sharp footwork and expressive leg lines immediately captivated the audience. As the performance unfolded, she peeled away her shirt with deliberate finesse to reveal a sparkling bra beneath, commanding attention right through to her powerful final pose and earning enthusiastic applause.

A darker, cinematic mood followed as Bongilicious from Hull Harlots enchanted the audience with a sensual performance to Black Leaves by Kirby. Wrapped in warm, earthy tones, including a brown dress, coordinating wrap, hat, and fan, she created a nostalgic aesthetic infused with deliciously dark seduction. Her routine unfurled slowly and with control. The fan drifted from her fingers, the hat lifted away, the wrap peeled from her shoulders, and the skirt loosened to reveal a sleek silhouette beneath. Playful bum rolls and expressive glances rippled laughter and excitement through the room, while her bold final reveal earned tremendous applause for a routine rich in both sass and storytelling.

Humour and high polish collided as Violet Siren, Bonnie Bubbles and Minnie Mynx from Drax Diamonds delivered a brilliantly inventive trio routine to Hot Stuff by Donna Summer. Opening with a comedic menopause café scene, they playfully set the stage before erupting into full showgirl glamour as the music kicked in and confetti rained down. Their synchronisation was impeccable, their timing razor sharp, and their chemistry undeniable. When they slipped off their wrap dresses in perfect unison to reveal dazzling pasties beneath coordinated costumes, the audience roared with delight. Polished, imaginative and wildly entertaining, the act was a true highlight of the first half.

Stepping onto the stage in a striking leopard print ensemble complete with bra, pants, suspender belt, and stockings, she blended dominance and seduction with ease. Her gold whip curled sinuously around her body as her fluid floorwork and commanding transitions held the audience spellbound. A shimmering glitter pour finale sealed the performance, earning a spectacular reaction and standing as a proud reflection of her Hull Harlots heritage and leadership of The Sugar Belles.

Sultry confidence took centre stage as Violet Grace from Hull Harlots performed a bold bump and grind routine to Boyfriend by Dove Cameron. Beginning seated with her feet confidently propped on a table, she wore a crisp white shirt and tailored black suit. Each layer was peeled away with tantalising precision. Jacket, tie, shirt, and trousers revealed elegant lingerie beneath. Her dramatic final floor pose was powerful, provocative, and met with explosive applause from the captivated crowd.

Closing the first half on an emotional high, Paris Chantilly delivered a breathtaking ostrich fan performance to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. Each reveal, including skirt, corset, and bra, unfolded behind shimmering feathers with the poise of a seasoned storyteller. Rising into her iconic tall peacock pose, sparkling pasties catching the light, she held the audience in silence before thunderous applause erupted, and many viewers were visibly moved to tears.

During the interval, the theatre buzzed with a shimmering energy that lingered like perfume in the air. Guests filled the lobby and aisles with animated chatter, voices rising and falling as they eagerly relived the breathtaking performances from the first half. Their synchronised steps shimmered with showgirl glamour as a cascade of gold rose petals fell around them. A cheeky highlight saw denim shorts ripped away and lassoed above their heads before mischievous flashes of pasties sent the crowd wild. Shirts came off, hats were tossed into eager hands, and the routine ended in a triumphant group pose that brought thunderous applause echoing through the theatre.

Whimsy and wonder took centre stage as Lola Sparkles from Featherstone Follies bewitched the audience with a magician-themed performance to It’s A Kind Of Magic and Pink Pussycat. Wearing a black magician’s jacket and hat, she commanded the stage with theatrical charm. She opened by pulling a rabbit from her hat, revealed to be a playful illusion tied into her hair, drawing laughter and delight. Lifting an oversized stage hat, she unveiled a pink burlesque bunny accompanied by a joyful confetti pour that caused audible gasps throughout the theatre. As the music shifted, the gloves and jacket peeled away to reveal a delicate pink babydoll. Slipping into rabbit ears and wrapping herself in a vibrant carrot boa, she fully transformed into her pink pussycat persona, earning rapturous applause for her enchanting storytelling and flawless showgirl finesse.
