Term 3 - I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You
A Year of Style, Strength and Show Stopping Routines
The Selby Starlets embraced a beautifully varied year of burlesque, with each term introducing fresh styles, techniques, and performance challenges that strengthened their versatility and confidence.
Term One began with Bellyesque as the Starlets learned Sway using silk fans. This routine encouraged fluid movement, expressive musicality, and controlled sensuality, building strength and grace while deepening emotional connection to performance.
Term Two shifted the energy into Neo Burlesque with Do You Wanna Touch. Incorporating chairs, shirts, and bras, this routine embraced boldness and attitude, encouraging fearless movement and contemporary flair.
Term Three brought the elegance of Feather Fan Burlesque with I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You. Working with ostrich fans, the dancers refined timing, conceal and reveal technique, and polished stage presence, creating beautifully controlled and sophisticated performances.
Showgirl glamour took centre stage in Term Four with Viva Las Vegas. Featuring sequin skirts and gloves, this high energy routine celebrated sparkle, sass, and sharp choreography.
Term 2 - Do You Wanna Touch
Term Five returned to Classic Burlesque with Take My Love Take Me, using feather bustles and gloves to explore timeless elegance, refined tease, and strong ensemble work.
Term Six offered a creative mixture of styles during the much loved One Night Only routines, giving dancers freedom to experiment, perform, and celebrate their individuality in a supportive environment.
Term Seven saw the class split into two dynamic groups. One group embraced Neo Burlesque with Maneater, wearing bomber jackets, gloves, and striking spiky bras, delivering bold, powerful choreography packed with attitude. The second group explored Classic Burlesque with Nasty Naughty Boy, incorporating flowing organza boas and sultry musical interpretation.
Term Eight closed the year with Feather Fan Burlesque and Winter Wonderland, using ostrich fans to bring seasonal elegance and graceful movement to the stage.
Returning in the new year, the Starlets stepped into country inspired showgirl energy with Hillbilly Rock, complete with fringe skirts and cowgirl hats, before moving into Bellyesque once more with Babooshka, using flowing belly dance veils to create dramatic, expressive stage pictures.
Each term has strengthened technique, creativity, and confidence, adding another layer to the powerful legacy of the Selby Starlets.

The Revelry Of Tease - 24th May 2025
Laughter and high energy lit up the stage as Harley Queen and Phoenix Rose of Selby Starlets delivered a comedic yet undeniably seductive take on Single Ladies. Entering in leopard print dressing gowns, satin pink pyjamas, and hair turbans, the duo began with a cheeky confetti pour using cocktail glasses, instantly setting a playful tone. Signature Beyoncé moves quickly took over as turbans were tossed aside, robes swept away, and pyjama bottoms teasingly lowered for a mischievous reveal. Their finale saw pyjama tops torn open to unveil glittering pasties, earning roaring applause and enthusiastic whistles from the crowd.
A dramatic shift in energy followed as Cherry Dynamite took to the stage with a mad scientist meets seductress performance to Poison. Dressed in a lab coat beside a table of bubbling potions, she blended theatrical storytelling with playful allure. Each carefully timed reveal peeled away another layer, unveiling a striking green and black babydoll and bustle beneath. Her triumphant finale, complete with dazzling sequin pasties and a bold finishing flourish, delighted the audience and proved equal parts mischievous and mesmerising.

A Spectacular Symphony of Sass, Seduction and Showmanship
Burlesque Ball Part Two – 22nd November at Doncaster Little Theatre
Burlesque Ball Part Two illuminated Doncaster Little Theatre with an evening of glamour, humour, and fearless performance artistry as the Selby Starlets took command of the stage.
Silky seduction set the tone as Lemon Sherbert delivered a smooth purple silk fan routine to Something In Your Mouth. Dressed in a short black skirt, black bra, and delicate lace gloves, she glided effortlessly across the stage. After setting her fans aside, she performed two slow and deliberate glove peels before removing her bra and reclaiming her fans to tease the audience with impeccable timing. Her final reveal of black tassels was met with warm, enthusiastic applause.
Comedy and character took centre stage as Harley Queen and Phoenix Rose began to the gentle theme of the Antiques Roadshow, appearing in white shirts, long black skirts, and books balanced upon their heads in a playful lesson on how ladies should behave. When the music burst into You Can Leave Your Hat On, the transformation was instant. Books tumbled, shirts slipped away, and black skirts dropped to reveal striking red PVC lingerie beneath. Their bold red tassel reveal earned a thunderous cheer and secured their title as Best Small Group Performance of the Night.
The temperature rose as the Selby Starlets returned with a sizzling group performance to Nasty Naughty Boy. Scarlett Valentine, Lola Sparkles, Cherry Dynamite, Crystal California, and Ginger Larue dazzled in black jewelled lingerie adorned with sumptuous pink and black boas. Their choreography flowed seamlessly, boas curling and cascading with precision. A chorus line tease built anticipation before bras were cast aside and boas flung high into the air, finishing in a unified pose that earned a roaring ovation.
The second half ignited with fierce attitude as Crystal California stormed onto the stage to Like A Bad Girl Should. Wearing a black leather look dress and wielding a glowing LED whip, she electrified the theatre from her first step. Lassoing the whip overhead, she delivered cheeky bum rolls and sultry glances before tearing away her dress to reveal striking black PVC lingerie and stockings. Her wicked bra removal and bold tassel reveal sent applause soaring through the room.
Magic and mischief followed as Lola Sparkles delivered a masterclass in theatrical storytelling to It’s A Kind Of Magic and Pink Pussycat. Appearing in a magician’s jacket and top hat, she delighted the audience by pulling a rabbit from her hat before revealing a giant pink burlesque bunny and unleashing a joyful confetti explosion. As the music shifted, gloves and jacket peeled away to reveal a beautiful pink babydoll, rabbit ears perched playfully atop her head and a carrot boa wrapped around her body, finishing in a cheeky pose that brought thunderous applause.
Elegance swept across the stage as Cherry Dynamite delivered a breathtaking fan dance to Guy What Takes His Time. Draped in a long black robe and wielding sumptuous purple ostrich fans, she moved with serene confidence. Behind the fluttering feathers, her robe slipped away with effortless grace to reveal dazzling purple pasties. Her fan work was exquisitely smooth and irresistibly flirtatious, holding the audience spellbound until the final pose.
Laughter erupted as Scarlett Valentine burst onto the stage with a high camp cowgirl fantasy to Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy. Wearing cow print chaps, an embroidered waistcoat, and a red shirt, she entered riding an inflatable horse that instantly won the crowd. Costume pieces peeled away one by one, including a cheeky moment pulling money from her bra to toss into the audience. Fiery glove peels, bumless chaps, and a lasso-inspired bra flick led to a dazzling pasty reveal that sent the theatre wild.
Fierce unity followed as Harley Queen, Phoenix Rose, Lemon Sherbert, and Ruby Reckless took control of the stage to Maneater. Dressed in short black skirts and leather bomber jackets, they entered with undeniable attitude. Sharp choreography, bold chorus lines, and powerful glove peels built toward a dramatic bra reveal, with perfectly synchronised tassel spins sealing their win as Best Class Performance of the Night.
A hush fell as Ginger Larue delivered one of the most enchanting moments of the evening to Dream A Little Dream Of Me. Draped in soft, luxurious blue layers, she appeared like a living vision of elegance. Gentle glove removals led to her gown drifting to the floor, followed by the reveal of a sparkling corset beneath her bustle. With exquisite control and emotional depth, she teased the audience before unveiling glittering pasties to a standing ovation, earning her the title of Best Solo Performance of the Night.
It was an evening rich in glamour, storytelling, and fearless self expression, a true celebration of the Selby Starlets at their most confident and captivating.
