Term 1 2026 - Please Mr Jailer
A Year of Style, Creativity, and Performance
The Drax Diamonds have enjoyed another exciting year of burlesque, with each term introducing new styles and performance challenges that allowed the class to build confidence and explore their creativity.
The journey began with Showgirl Burlesque as the class learned Viva Las Vegas. Wearing sequin skirts and gloves, the dancers embraced sparkle and classic showgirl glamour while developing sharp musical interpretation and confident choreography.
Term six brought a mixture of styles through the ever-popular One Night Only routines, giving dancers the freedom to explore different ideas, perform unique pieces, and celebrate individuality.
Country showgirl energy took centre stage in term seven with Hillbilly Rock. Wearing cowgirl hats, check shirts, and rip off shorts, the class delivered a lively routine filled with playful personality and strong ensemble choreography.
The year concluded with elegant Feather Fan Burlesque as the class performed Winter Wonderland, using flowing ostrich fans to create graceful movement and beautiful stage pictures.
As the new year began, the Drax Diamonds continued their creative journey with Classic Burlesque and Please Mr Jailer, incorporating shirts and gloves to develop theatrical storytelling and character-driven performance.
Classic Burlesque returned again with Nasty Naughty Boy, where organza boas added softness and sensuality to the choreography.
The dancers then embraced bold Neo Burlesque with Another One Bites The Dust, using pimp sticks and trilby hats to create a powerful stage presence and strong visual impact.
The term continued with Bellyesque as the class explored Babooshka, using flowing belly dance veils to create dramatic movement and expressive stage imagery.
Each routine has strengthened the confidence, creativity, and performance quality that define the Drax Diamonds.
A Night of Glamour at the Burlesque Ball
Doncaster Little Theatre – 15th November
Burlesque Ball Part One illuminated Doncaster Little Theatre with an evening of glamour, comedy, and dazzling performances as the Drax Diamonds took to the stage.
Old Hollywood elegance filled the theatre as Jule’s Divine delivered her debut solo to Why Don’t You Do Right. Inspired by the iconic Jessica Rabbit, she appeared in a floor-length red gown with deep purple satin gloves and a luxurious matching boa. Her movements were smooth and sensual, blending vintage glamour with playful charm. A teasing glove peel and cheeky bum roll delighted the audience, while her flirtatious blown kiss at the finale earned warm applause for a confident and polished debut.
Humour and high energy followed as Violet Siren, Bonnie Bubbles, and Minnie Mynx delivered a brilliantly inventive trio routine to Hot Stuff. Beginning with a comedic café scene, they quickly transformed the stage into full showgirl glamour as confetti rained down. Their timing was razor sharp and their synchronisation flawless. When they slipped away their wrap dresses in perfect unison to reveal dazzling pasties beneath coordinated costumes, the theatre erupted with laughter and cheers.
Grace returned to the spotlight as Cherry Dynamite delivered a stunning fan routine to Guy What Takes His Time. Draped in a long black robe and wielding luxurious purple ostrich fans, she moved with serene confidence. The robe slipped away gracefully behind the fans before a perfectly timed reveal of glowing purple pasties beneath the stage lights. Elegant and exquisitely controlled, the performance earned some of the loudest applause of the evening.
The stage burst into life as the Drax Diamonds stormed the theatre with a vibrant group performance to Hillbilly Rock Hillbilly Roll. Cherry Dynamite, Bella Diamond, Pixie Dust, Violet Siren, Bonnie Bubbles, Minnie Mynx, Jule’s Divine, Anastasia Star, and Silver Storm appeared in cowboy boots, denim shorts, and checked shirts, bringing a playful country aesthetic packed with personality. Their choreography was filled with powerful chorus lines, sharp footwork, and seamless synchronisation. A highlight saw denim shorts ripped away and lassoed overhead before cheeky flashes of pasties sent the audience wild. Shirts flew off, cowboy hats were tossed into the crowd, and the routine ended in a triumphant group pose that brought thunderous applause echoing through the theatre.
