In class, we explore these ideas through posture, gaze, timing, and controlled movement. These hallmarks of classic burlesque remain compelling in every era. It is not about doing more, it is about doing less, beautifully.

Rather than chasing perfection, dancers are encouraged to explore character, interpretation, and presence. This philosophy keeps classes fresh, playful, and deeply engaging. No two experiences are ever the same.

The Routines and Props We Explore

Each classic burlesque class introduces a brand new routine, often paired with a prop or concept that allows dancers to continually expand their expressive range.

Past routines have included songs such as I Just Want To Make Love To You using boas, Santa Baby which focused purely on character and timing with no props, and I Put A Spell On You using gloves and boas.

Other routines have explored Love For Sale with umbrellas, Feeling Good with boas, Take My Love, Take Me using gloves and feather bustles, Please Mr. Jailer using shirts and gloves, and Nasty Naughty Boy using boas.

Each routine becomes a starting point, something to interpret, inhabit, and enjoy fully in the moment.
