“I’m currently part of the beginner burlesque class, and it has been an incredibly supportive and empowering space to grow both technically and creatively. The level is perfectly balanced, challenging enough to encourage real progress while still feeling accessible, confidence-building, and welcoming.
The classes themselves are genuinely one of the highlights of my week. They’re thoughtfully structured, inclusive, and deeply affirming. Through them, I’ve developed greater strength, body awareness, musicality, and self-expression, and I always leave feeling uplifted and proud of myself, no matter how I’ve arrived that day.
The shows and performances are equally special. They’re professionally organised while maintaining a warm, celebratory, and safe atmosphere. Performing feels empowering rather than intimidating, with a strong sense of community and mutual support both backstage and on stage.
As an instructor, Paris is truly exceptional. She’s supportive, encouraging, and deeply respectful of everybody and their ability level. She creates an environment where people feel safe to take up space, explore their confidence, and grow at their own pace. Her teaching is clear, compassionate, and empowering, and it’s evident how much care she puts into both her students and the art of burlesque.
I have enjoyed being part of Selby Starlets so much that I am now also part of Drax Diamonds.
