The Burlesque With Paris Burlesque Ball at Drax Sports and Social Club | 11 November 2023

A Night of Glitz, Glamour and Seductive Burlesque

The Burlesque With Paris Burlesque Ball took place on 11 November at Drax Sports and Social Club, welcoming 204 guests into an evening of glamour, tease, and unapologetic celebration. Hosted by the ever-charismatic Pinkie T’Boo and captured by Khandie Photography, the atmosphere in the room was electric long before the first performance began. As the lights dimmed and Paris Chantilly’s voice echoed across the venue, anticipation rippled through the crowd, signalling the start of a night where confidence, artistry, and allure would reign supreme.

Pinkie T’Boo made her entrance in a sparkling ensemble, immediately captivating the audience with her warmth, wit, and effortless command of the stage. Each word was delivered with playful precision, setting the tone for an evening that promised both glamour and laughter. The audience leaned in, fully engaged, as she opened the door to a night of unforgettable burlesque.

Opening the performances, Lucretia Velvet of Featherstone Follies stepped onto the stage draped in a dramatic black lace gown. Performing to the haunting combination of Rabid and Closer, she moved with measured elegance, drawing the audience into her world from the very first note. As her routine unfolded, long skirt and corsetry were revealed piece by piece, each removal executed with intention and flair. The transformation was slow, deliberate, and utterly captivating, earning her resounding applause and setting a powerful standard for the night ahead.

The energy surged as the Selby Sirens burst onto the stage. April Lilly, Lil-bit O’Booty, Peaches Divine, Ivana Cupcake, and Heather Ann Lace delivered a high-octane routine to Hot In Herre, blending sharp choreography with playful seduction. Hip bumps snapped, legs kicked, and gloves slid away with confidence, followed by skirts and bras, revealing shimmering pasties that caught the stage lights. With every reveal, the audience’s cheers grew louder, feeding the infectious energy that radiated from the group.

A wave of classic glamour swept across the stage as the Hull Harlots appeared, led by Amethyst Passion, Honey Rouge, Ruby Starr, Scarlett Vixen, Madam Kink, Sugarboo, Violet Grace, Cherry Daiquiri, Fifi Whispers, and Lolita Love. Performing to Hey Big Spender, their routine combined expressive lip-syncing with elegant, storytelling movement. Each gesture was polished and purposeful, evoking timeless burlesque sophistication. The audience responded enthusiastically, their applause echoing through the venue in appreciation of the troupe’s refined performance.

The mood softened into something deliciously restrained as Bubblez Byzance, Delicious Denise, and Amethyst Allure of the Selby Sirens trio emerged in striking black and gold costumes. Long satin gloves and sashes marked Perfect 10 framed a routine that celebrated suggestion over spectacle. Their movements were fluid and precise, teasing the audience with elegance and control. The restraint paid off, drawing warm, sustained applause for a performance that proved less can indeed be more.

A sharp shift in atmosphere followed as Dominatrix Queen Von Yr Neez of Hull Honeys claimed the stage. Performing to S&M, she opened with commanding chair work that showcased strong leg lines and deliberate movement. As the act intensified, a riding crop and flogger were introduced, heightening the sense of theatrical dominance. A blindfolded “victim” joined her onstage, and with every crack and snap, the audience gasped and cheered in equal measure. Her authority was absolute, holding the entire room captive until the final beat, when roaring applause erupted.

The stage filled once more as the Featherstone Follies ensemble returned, performing to Fire In My Head. Coral Kisses, Roxy Starr, Selene Citrine, Bohemian Beauty, Big Red, Ruby July, Lola Sparkles, Emerald Fuego, Ivy Jac, and Busty Babycakes delivered a powerful celebration of bump and grind. Dressed in bold pink and black, gowns were unclipped with elegance before gloves were peeled away and hips rolled in perfect unison. The routine built to a striking group pose that landed precisely with the music, drawing an overwhelming response from the crowd.

Mystery and enchantment followed as Lady Venus of Hull Honeys glided onto the stage in a long black lace gown with matching gloves. Her leg lines were immaculate as she played expertly with reveal and conceal. As the music transitioned from Lumos to React, she shed her gown to unveil a rich purple and black corset set, paired with lace holdups and knickers. The transformation ignited the room, her final triumphant pose met with uproarious applause.

The audience was then swept into a pirate fantasy by Salacious Silk of Doncaster Divas. Performing to Wellerman, she brought sass, storytelling, and playful mischief to the stage. Beginning with a scarf wrapped at her waist, she delivered lively bum rolls and hip bumps, shedding layers as the story unfolded. Gloves and hat followed, before a dramatic rose petal pour created a stunning visual finale that delighted the crowd and showcased her imaginative flair.

Raising the tempo once more, She She La Play of Doncaster Divas took the stage with a confident chair-based striptease to Any Man Of Mine. Incorporating a prop into her routine, she blended fancy footwork with playful interaction, each undone button of her check shirt building anticipation. The chair became an extension of her performance, culminating in a bold pastie reveal that sent the audience into enthusiastic applause.

Classic burlesque elegance returned as the Goole Goddesses appeared in pink and black ensembles, light-up marabou-trimmed umbrellas in hand. Performing to Love For Sale, they delivered a beautifully synchronised routine filled with bump flicks, feather boa bustle reveals, and carefully choreographed umbrella work. Strategic moments of concealment and reveal kept the audience enthralled, their applause swelling as the group struck their final pose.

Scarlett Vixen then commanded attention with a dynamic chair routine to Express. Beginning in a crisp white shirt, she teased the audience with confident leg lines and fluid movement before revealing a black lace bodysuit and patterned tights. Her control of the chair and commanding presence told a story of empowerment and sensuality, drawing cheers that echoed throughout the venue.

Madam Kink, representing both Hull Harlots and Hull Honeys, followed in a striking black PVC dress and fishnet tights. Performing to Pony, her chair burlesque was unapologetically bold, featuring dramatic head rolls and razor-sharp leg lines. Her commanding energy pushed the boundaries of classic burlesque, and the audience responded with rapturous applause.

Closing the first half, Ruby Rose of Goole Goddesses and Doncaster Divas stepped into the spotlight in a vivid red ensemble. Performing to Black Velvet, she delivered a slow-burning chair routine filled with sultry poses and deliberate pacing. The anticipation built until her daring reveal of red pasties brought the house down, cheers and applause marking a powerful end to an unforgettable first act.

As the lights rose for the interval, the room buzzed with animated conversation. Glasses clinked, laughter rang out, and favourite moments were eagerly exchanged. The first half had delivered glamour, power, and tease in abundance, leaving the audience hungry for what the second half of the Burlesque With Paris Burlesque Ball would bring.

As the interval buzz settled and the audience returned to their seats, the energy in the room was unmistakable. Pinkie T’Boo’s return to the stage signalled the continuation of the Burlesque With Paris Burlesque Ball, and anticipation hung thick in the air. Backstage nerves gave way to excitement as performers prepared to step back into the spotlight, ready to draw the audience deeper into the night’s unfolding spectacle.

Heather Ann Lace reignited the spark of the evening with an entrance that was anything but expected. Charging through the room armed with a dinosaur prop that playfully attacked unsuspecting audience members, she blended comedy and burlesque with irresistible charm. Once on stage, her routine became a joyful whirlwind, incorporating an inflatable cane, a bowler hat, and a flowing green organza boa. The final flourish came with a shimmy of vibrant red tassels, bringing laughter, cheers, and whistles that set the tone for a second half bursting with personality and playfulness.

Sugarboo of Hull Harlots and Hull Honeys followed, stepping into the spotlight in a dreamy baby pink gown that floated effortlessly around her. Performing to God Is A Woman, she delivered a routine rich in elegance and empowerment. Her movements were controlled and deliberate, playing a sensual game of reveal and conceal as the gown slowly parted to unveil a pearly pink costume beneath. The transformation felt symbolic as well as visual, earning rapturous applause from an audience fully engaged in her narrative of femininity, strength, and grace.

Violet Grace of Hull Harlots and Hull Honeys made a striking entrance as the opening notes of Naughty Girl filled the room. Sliding smoothly across the stage, she immediately commanded attention. Dressed in a sleek black ensemble, she wielded a light up whip with confidence, incorporating seductive floor work and hypnotic chair techniques. Her hold ups and black body became statements of power and allure, every movement reinforcing her commanding presence. The audience watched, transfixed, responding to each crack of the whip and fluid transition with audible appreciation.

Selene Citrine and Ruby July of Featherstone Follies brought classic showgirl energy to the stage, beginning their routine masked and facing one another as Midnight set the mood. Gloves slipped away, long lace skirts were sensually removed, short capes fluttered to the floor, and masks were dramatically discarded. Hip bumps, bum rolls, and spirited high kicks followed, building a lively crescendo that had the audience cheering enthusiastically. Their performance was a celebration of glamour, sass, and timeless burlesque flair.

The stage filled with flowing pink and black chiffon as Salacious Silk, Ruby Rose, Belladonna Rose, Beltane Bette, and Miss Fifi Redhead of Doncaster Divas emerged for their neo burlesque routine to Venus. Moving with goddess like poise, arm scarves and cuffs accentuated each shape and gesture. As scarves were removed, dazzling pasties were revealed beneath the lights, drawing immediate applause. The routine balanced sensuality and synchronisation beautifully, celebrating confidence and collective power.

Big Red of Featherstone Follies commanded the room with a spellbinding chair routine to Love Is A Bitch. Bathed in sultry lighting, her movements were slow, deliberate, and richly expressive. Elegant leg lines carved through the air as she teased with precision, culminating in the removal of a long white shirt that drew an audible reaction from the audience. Her performance was met with thunderous applause, a testament to her magnetic stage presence.

Anticipation rippled through the crowd as Lola Sparkles stepped onto the stage with her back turned as the opening notes of Addicted To Love began. With her boa becoming an extension of her movement, she delivered a masterclass in tease and timing. Gloves slipped away, a long floaty skirt was shed, and her signature rose petal pour created a breathtaking visual moment. Every step and shimmy was met with enthusiastic response, her connection with the audience undeniable.

Sambuca Storm of Goole Goddesses burst onto the stage in shimmering gold, performing to Queen Of Kings. High energy choreography showcased her athleticism and precision, with powerful kicks and dynamic movement driving the routine forward. As her gold jacket and trousers were removed, she transitioned to a striking moment at the back of the stage, unfolding gold isis wings while perched on a chair. The effect was commanding and dramatic, earning rapturous applause.

Elegance returned as Pink Champagne of Goole Goddesses delivered a breathtaking fan dance to It’s All Coming Back To Me Now. Beginning on the floor with folded silk fans, she rose gracefully, unfurling colour and emotion with every movement. Her long leg lines and refined fan technique painted poetry in the air, the audience responding with sustained applause for a performance rich in control and artistry.

Hull Honeys took the stage with undeniable swagger, clad in black suits with vibrant pink ties for their neo burlesque routine to Come Together. Ties were removed with playful precision, jackets followed, and turning their backs to the audience, they revealed their burlesque names emblazoned across their underwear. The finale saw bras discarded in perfect unison, sparkling pasties revealed to deafening cheers.

Ruby Starr of Hull Harlots raised the temperature with a sultry performance to Buttons. Incorporating chair work with confident bump and grind, she teased the audience with polished control. Stockings were removed with deliberate flair, culminating in a reveal of black pasties and ruffle shorts that earned her thunderous applause.

Roxy Starr of Featherstone Follies injected rock and roll energy into the evening with Beautiful Dangerous. Dressed in red and wielding a flogger, she combined raw attitude with playful theatrics, including an inflatable guitar that delighted the crowd. Satin gloves peeled away, and a final reveal of red tassels sent the audience into a frenzy.

Coral Kisses of Featherstone Follies followed as a vision of elegance in white, performing to Wondrous Place. Her measured movements, graceful glove removal, and impeccable leg lines embodied classic burlesque sophistication. Fancy footwork and signature bum rolls added depth to a performance that felt timeless and refined.

Bohemian Beauty of Featherstone Follies took the stage to Tainted Love, captivating the audience with a seductive glove removal using only her teeth. Floor work flowed seamlessly into standing teases, her corset eventually joining the discarded layers. A confident reveal of black tassels brought the routine to a powerful close, greeted with thunderous applause.

Emerald Fuego of Featherstone Follies delivered a darkly electric performance to Poison, clad in black lace and leather. With a riding crop in hand, her sultry movements built toward a bold reveal of black tassels and knickers, the audience cheering loudly as she claimed her moment.

The evening reached its emotional pinnacle as Lou Safire took to the stage. His mastery of burlesque was evident in every gesture, every expression, and every movement of his ostrich fans. With an elegance that transcended words, he held the audience in reverent silence before releasing them into heartfelt applause. His performance stood as a reminder of burlesque as an art form that is powerful, vulnerable, and deeply human.

As the curtains closed on the Burlesque With Paris Burlesque Ball, the sense of celebration lingered. Looking ahead, the promise of new stories, new performers, and more unforgettable moments shimmered in the air. With a community of dedicated burlesque artists, creative collaborators, and an audience that continues to show up with open hearts, the future of Burlesque With Paris feels brighter and bolder than ever.
