The Selby Starlets’ journey began with a courageous and unforgettable debut at The Revelry of Tease on the 11th of May 2018. For many, this was their first time stepping onto the stage, and the excitement in the room was electric. In January 2019, a group of Selby Starlets experienced something truly special with a Burlesque Makeover and Photo Shoot. This transformative day allowed them to step fully into their glamour, working with professional makeup artists and photographers to capture the essence of burlesque.
The experience went far beyond costumes and camera flashes. It was a powerful celebration of confidence and self belief. Watching the Starlets embrace their individuality and see themselves through a new, empowered lens was nothing short of magical. The Burlesque Ball Show on the 3rd of November 2018 at Drax Social Club was a defining moment for the Selby Starlets. Opening the evening with a captivating group performance to But I Am A Good Girl, they commanded the stage with confidence and charisma.
Dressed in dazzling costumes that shimmered under the lights, the Starlets moved in seamless unison, blending elegance, tease, and power. Each performer brought her own personality to the routine while maintaining a strong collective presence. Throughout the year, the Selby Starlets explored the magic of burlesque through a wide range of routines and props, learning how small details can create unforgettable moments on stage. From the flick of a glove to the dramatic reveal behind an ostrich fan, each routine added a new layer to their performance skills.
Over the year, the Selby Starlets mastered Welcome to Burlesque with gloves and boas, Candyman with canes, But I Am A Good Girl using gloves, skirts, and chair work, and S&M with floggers. They embraced elegance with Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps using ostrich fans and classic style with That Man featuring trilby hats. They also showcased confidence with Sparkling Diamonds performed without props, alongside annual show routines and promo day performances.
This year was filled with fabulous routines, striking props, and unforgettable performances, all driven by dedication, creativity, and a deep love for burlesque.
