Introducing Cherry Dynamite

Welcome to Burlesque With Paris, where our instructors are the heart and soul of everything we do. Here we would like to introduce you to our amazing instructors and explore why they are so dedicated to teaching the art of burlesque.

We are excited to introduce you to our fabulous stand-in instructor, Cherry Dynamite. Cherry Dynamite steps in for Drax Diamonds, bringing her signature sparkle, sass, and high-energy glamour to every class she leads. Let’s dive into what makes Cherry such a dazzling force in the world of Burlesque With Paris.

Hello, my name is Sam, I’m 40 years old, and I joined Burlesque With Paris because I simply love to dance. Dance has always been something that brings me joy. Over the years, I have tried many different styles, including lindy hop, Charleston, and tango, but I wanted to try something completely different.

I began my burlesque journey with Goole Goddesses, now known as Drax Diamonds, and from my very first class, I knew I had found something special. I enjoyed it so much that I soon joined Selby Sirens and Selby Starlets as well.

Burlesque has allowed me to explore a new side of dance, one that blends confidence, creativity, and performance in such a unique way. It has helped me grow not just as a dancer, but as a person. Being part of multiple classes has given me an incredible sense of community and belonging.

I feel more confident, more expressive, and more empowered than ever before, which is why becoming an instructor felt like the natural next step. I want to share my love of dance and help others discover just how powerful and transformative burlesque can be.

Why did you become a Burlesque With Paris instructor? What is your favourite thing about being an instructor?

As a former secondary school teacher, it is in my nature to want to help people of all ages grow and develop. I love watching confidence build week by week and seeing students achieve things they never thought they could.

How do you think burlesque helps boost a body positive image?

Burlesque With Paris makes you feel beautiful no matter your size, age, or background. Paris creates an environment where you feel comfortable in your own skin. The routines are carefully structured to cater for all abilities, so everyone feels capable and successful.

What is it about burlesque that you love so much?

Getting to be completely over the top. I am a natural extrovert, and burlesque allows me to embrace my true, extravagant self.

Do you have any favourite burlesque performers?

I love Fou Fou Kaboom and Billy Von Burton. They both embody old school glamour with a brilliant touch of comedy and sass.

Do you feel that burlesque has impacted your life in any significant way?

I am more confident in my body, and it has inspired me to become physically stronger so I can move more freely and continue dancing for years to come.

When was the best or most empowering moment for you in burlesque? Favourite moment?

Performing my very first solo. Paris offered to shorten my music, but my ethos is go big or go home. Performing a full four minute track by The Killers was an unforgettable experience.

What is your motto in life?

If you are going to do it, do it properly. Add the extra rhinestones. Do the extra flourish. Give the audience a wink. Leave it all on the stage.

Why did you choose your name and where did it come from?

I have had red hair since my mid teens, which was my first step in becoming who I truly am. I wanted a name that reflected that boldness and the way I hope to explode onto the stage.

If you could give one piece of advice to anyone taking up a burlesque class, what would it be?

Leave your perceptions at the door and give it a try. It is not about taking your clothes off. It is about confidence, expression, and sass. You do not need to be Dita Von Teese. You just need to be you.
