Introducing Tina La Tease
Here at Burlesque With Paris, we thought you’d like to meet our instructors to find out what they love about burlesque so much and why they decided they wanted to teach burlesque to all of our burlesque lovelies.
We would like to introduce to you Tina La Tease our instructor for Liverpool.
Hello, my name is Tina,.. otherwise known as Tina La Tease, and I'm from Liverpool. I had always wanted to learn Burlesque, but could never find a class nearby, eventually, I found one in Southport on 31st October 2016. I attended 2 classes a week, and it has made such a difference to my life.
Burlesque has made me happy and boosted my confidence. It has helped in lots of areas in my life, I've gone from not even wanting to have a photo taken, to actually taking part in a video, while performing in front of an audience. I feel more confident about my image and my abilities now than I ever have which is why I made the decision to become a Burlesque With Paris instructor.
I want to make a difference in people’s lives and build their confidence making them feel good about themselves, and I am really looking forward to the challenge.
WHY DID YOU BECOME A BURLESQUE WITH PARIS INSTRUCTOR? WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT BEING AN INSTRUCTOR?
I decided to become an Instructor because, I was attending classes twice a week, and I loved it so much, I didn’t want it to end, so it was a no brainer for me to become an instructor myself. I love the feeling I get inside when I've taught my ladies a routine, and they're so happy and proud of seeing themselves in a video. The best feeling in the world is to make other ladies feel great about themselves.
HOW DO YOU THINK BURLESQUE HELPS BOOST A BODY POSITIVE IMAGE?
It helps promote positive body image because it’s suitable for all ages and all sizes, and the ladies that attend my classes all support each other 100%
WHAT IS IT ABOUT BURLESQUE THAT YOU LOVE SO MUCH?
The things I love most about Burlesque is the glitz, glamour, and sparkle of the props and the fabulous costumes. Also the friendships I've made so far on my Burlesque journey, it’s been so lovely to meet so many lovely people it’s one of the best things I have ever done.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVOURITE BURLESQUE PERFORMERS?
Dixie Evans, the Marilyn Monroe of Burlesque is my favourite.
DO YOU FEEL THAT BURLESQUE HAS IMPACTED IN YOUR LIFE IN ANY SIGNIFICANT WAY?
It boosted my self-esteem and gave me more confidence than I had ever had. I am so proud of my achievements since becoming an instructor. It has made me the person I am today and it has made me feel good about myself as a person.
WHEN WAS THE BEST MOST EMPOWERING MOMENT FOR YOU IN BURLESQUE? FAVOURITE MOMENT?
That has to be at any performance I've done with my girls, I could burst with pride when I see how much their egos are boosted when were all stepping off the stage. There is no other feeling quite like it.
WHAT IS YOUR MOTO IN LIFE?
Feel the fear.. and do it anyway!
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR NAME AND WHERE DID IT COME FROM?
I chose my name to become an instructor, and I suppose I took inspiration from the name of the great Dita Von Teese. I kept my own name Tina in there and created it with La Tease.
IF YOU COULD GIVE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE TO ANYONE TAKING UP A BURLESQUE CLASS WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Don’t put it off, because once you start, you'll wish you had started sooner, embrace you alter ego.. and lastly! FEEL THE FEAR.. AND DO IT ANYWAY! ❤
