But I Am A Good Girl - 2019
The Formation of the Featherstone Foxes
The Featherstone Foxes began as a group of women seeking more than just a dance class. From the very first session, the focus was on creating a safe and empowering space where confidence could grow, and individuality could shine. Under the guidance of Burlesque With Paris, the Foxes quickly bonded, forming a sisterhood built on encouragement, laughter, and mutual support.
What started as a room full of eager beginners soon transformed into a confident collective of performers. Each class became a place to explore self-expression, embrace vulnerability, and celebrate personal wins, both big and small. This strong foundation of camaraderie and empowerment has remained at the heart of the Featherstone Foxes ever since.
Featherstone Foxes Class Performance - Burlesque Ball - 9th November 2019
Stepping Into the Spotlight at the Burlesque Ball
Just nine weeks into their journey, the Featherstone Foxes bravely stepped onto the stage at the Burlesque Ball Show at Drax Social Club. Performing their routine to Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps, the group showcased not only their growing technique but also their unity and confidence as a team.
For many, this was their first time performing in front of an audience, making the achievement even more powerful. Their performance was met with enthusiastic applause and earned them an impressive second place in the group performance awards. It was a defining moment that confirmed their potential and marked the beginning of an exciting performance journey.

A Star Among Stars – Ja Ja Lamore
One of the standout moments of the Burlesque Ball came from Ja Ja Lamore, whose solo performance captivated the audience. Her act was a masterclass in storytelling, confidence, and stage presence, leaving a lasting impression on everyone watching.
Within the Featherstone Foxes community, Ja Ja Lamore is not only admired for her talent but cherished for her nurturing spirit. Often affectionately referred to as the burlesque mummy, her guidance and encouragement have inspired many within the group. Her performance perfectly highlighted the individual brilliance that complements the collective strength of the Featherstone Foxes.
Learning and Growing Through Burlesque Routines
Throughout their first year, the Featherstone Foxes explored a variety of burlesque styles and routines that challenged and developed their skills. From the classic elegance of Welcome to Burlesque using gloves and boas, to the playful tease of Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps with ostrich fans, each routine added depth and confidence to their growing repertoire.
They also revisited Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps as their Burlesque Ball show routine, refining their performance quality and stage presence. The addition of But I Am a Good Girl introduced chairs, skirts, and gloves, allowing the Foxes to explore character, musicality, and storytelling in new ways.
Zoomets Online Classes
Quarantine Creativity and Online Performances
When lockdown temporarily closed studio doors, the Featherstone Foxes adapted with creativity and resilience. Many members became part of the Zoomets online classes, transforming living rooms into stages and everyday items into burlesque props.
From hats and floggers to tea towels, their imagination knew no limits. This period also saw the rise of the Quarantease Lounge Shows, where solo performances were streamed online, keeping the burlesque spirit alive and connected. These virtual shows proved that burlesque thrives on creativity and community, no matter the circumstances.
