Goole Goddesses, Featherstone Follies, Featherstone Foxes, Selby Sirens, Selby Starlets, Hull Harlots and Hull Honeys - Our Magnificent Performers of 2022

On the 6th of May, we were able to host our first Student Showcase Show since the Coronavirus Pandemic and it really was worth the wait. We hosted the show at the Girnhill Club in Featherstone. The show was absolutely incredible and all of our performers performed show-stopping performances that wowed our audience throughout the show.

It has been months of hard work for all of our performing stars from Goole Goddesses, Featherstone Follies, Featherstone Foxes, Selby Sirens, Selby Starlets, Hull Harlots, and Hull Honeys, and finally, their student showcase show was here.

All of our performers were filled will nerves and excitement as the function room in the Girnhill Club, was filled with their family, friends, and all of our Burlesque With Paris lovelies who had joined our classes but had not yet seen one of our shows.

The room was filled with excitement and chatter as everyone was waiting eagerly to watch and support our performing Goddesses, Follies, Foxes, Sirens, Starlets, Harlots, and Honeys.

As the lights dimmed and the anticipation in the room reached a fever pitch, our spectacular host of the evening, Khandie Khisses, stepped onto the stage to give her titillating introduction to the show. The audience roared with applause as Khandie Khisses worked her magic, setting the stage for an evening filled with The Revelry Of Tease. The atmosphere was electric, and excitement hung thick in the air as the first performers of the night anxiously awaited their cue to step onto the stage. And then, it began...

Scarlett Vixen, Midnight Muse, and Miss Cocoa Noire, dressed in their lustrous satin gowns, took their places on stage, igniting the Burlesque With Paris show with an aura of mystique and allure. Their chosen anthem, Lust For Life, filled the air, setting a vivacious tempo that reverberated through the hearts of every spectator. As the trio commenced their routine, it was clear they were poised to leave an indelible mark on the audience. Each movement was a brushstroke in their tableau of tease, painting the evening with shades of excitement and sensuality.

With the deft unfurling of their fans, the performers embarked on a symphony of elegance and seduction. Their gowns, symbols of their initial mystery, gracefully fell away to unveil striking ensembles of black and red lingerie, signifying the shedding of inhibitions and the embrace of the evening's revelry. The introduction of a second fan each added layers to their performance, weaving intricate patterns of allure and charm into the fabric of the night.

The synchronisation of their fan work with the pulsating rhythms of the music captivated the audience, drawing them deeper into the spectacle. Each flick and flutter of the fans acted as a visual metronome, accentuating the performers' mastery over their craft and their ability to command the stage. Adorned in a resplendent green peacock costume, she shimmered under the spotlight, her presence a blend of elegance and anticipation. As the first notes of Tin Roof Blues played, she unfurled her purple peacock fans, and the room held its breath.

With each step and twirl, Pink Champagne demonstrated a mastery of movement that belied her newcomer status. Her fans became extensions of her arms, painting the air with strokes of vibrant colours and patterns. Clad in an enigmatic Maleficent-inspired costume, she commanded attention from the moment she stepped into the spotlight. Her entrance was a precursor to the electric energy she was about to unleash, embodying the power and mystique of the dark and mysterious figure she portrayed.

As the haunting melody of "Dark Horse" filled the air, Femme Fatal shed her black fur coat, diving headfirst into a routine that blended the classic bump and grind with a modern twist. Her movements were bold and seductive, each step and sway charged with an intoxicating blend of confidence and allure. But it was her poi work that elevated the act to a spellbinding spectacle. Twirling her purple silk pois with precision and grace, she added a layer of hypnotic visual flair to her performance.

The moment the jaunty tune of My Discarded Men began to play, Denise took command of the atmosphere, weaving her own narrative of flirtation and fun into the evening's tapestry of performances. Her routine, a delightful concoction of charm and surprise, saw her engaging the audience with a cheeky smile as she teased them with her pink boa, hinting at the whimsical nature of her act.

As the performance unfolded, Denise's adeptness in the art of tease became abundantly clear. With each deliberate removal of her gloves, the anticipation in the room swelled, the audience captivated by the spectacle of allure and reveal. In her performance, Delicious Denise reminded everyone of the power of playfulness and the enduring charm of a performer who can, with a wink and a smile, invite her audience to momentarily step into a world of fantasy and flair.

The atmosphere was electric as Ruby July and Lucretia Velvet took to the stage, marking the commencement of what promised to be a night to remember at The Revelry Of Tease. With Ruby July embodying the spirit of the joker and Lucretia Velvet captivating in her resplendent red attire, the duo presented "I Wanna Be Your Slave" with an ardour that was palpable. This being their debut as a double act, anticipation was high, and they delivered beyond expectations. Their synergy was undeniable, their movements fluid and entrancing, drawing the audience into a world where glamour and artistry collided. The air was thick with excitement as their performance reached its crescendo, leaving the spectators spellbound and setting a high standard for the evening's acts that were to follow. Their departure from the stage was met with roaring applause and cheers, a testament to their spellbinding performance and the indelible mark they left on the hearts of all who witnessed their artistry. Peaches LaMore, from Goole Goddesses, graced the stage with an aura of enigmatic charm as she prepared to entrance the audience with her rendition of "I Wanna Be Evil". Draped in a satin gown that whispered elegance with every movement, she commenced her act with a compelling lip-sync that seamlessly transitioned into a dynamic display of seduction and skill. As the music's tempo escalated, she skilfully disrobed to reveal a stunning ensemble underneath, holding the audience in rapt attention. The gown's removal was only the beginning of an enthralling performance that wove together cheeky chair antics and an exhilarating silk fan dance, culminating in an act that was both visually arresting and irresistibly provocative. With precision and flair, Peaches LaMore masterfully utilised her silk fans, orchestrating a finale that left the room ablaze with excitement. Their attire, a harmonious blend of black knickers, corsets, and highlighted by the vibrant red bras and shoes, set the tone for a performance that would linger in the memories of those in attendance. Their choice of black boas served as the perfect accessory, not merely as an addition to their ensembles but as an integral part of their routine, showcasing an exquisite technique that spoke volumes of their expertise and cohesion as a duo.

Clad in an ensemble that melded elegance with allure - a chic black skirt, form-fitting corset, and intricately patterned tights - she embodied the essence of the sultry performance piece. Her routine was a masterclass in the art of burlesque, intertwining skilled bum rolls, expressive lip-syncing, and sensuous grinding that kept spectators riveted from start to finish.

The rhythm of the music seemed to pulse through Southern Comfort as she moved, her every step and gesture amplifying the energy in the room. Ivan and Guy, plucked from the audience, emerged as stars under the guidance of Khandie Khisses. Their routine, filled with cheeky humour and playful interaction, included an imaginative use of black boas, mimicking the opening and closing of fridge doors, and whimsically showcasing salad boxes. The pièce de résistance of their act was the humorous flaunting of a "5-year guarantee," a creative twist that elicited roars of laughter and enthusiastic applause from the captivated audience.

This segment was a delightful departure from the traditional burlesque performances of the night, adding an unexpected layer of comedy and light-hearted entertainment. Heather Ann Lace truly set the stage alight with her breathtaking entrance, donned in a pink ensemble that epitomised sweetness and charm. The audience was instantly captivated as she floated across the stage, her performance to the My Boy Lollipop/Tainted Love mash-up exuding innocence with every skip and playful twirl of her giant lollipop. However, the atmosphere palpably shifted as the music took a darker turn. In a moment that can only be described as electrifying, the sweet facade faded, revealing Heather Ann Lace's alter ego. Clad in a dominatrix-inspired outfit, complete with black knickers, a corset, and wielding a flogger, she embraced a powerful and commanding presence that contrasted starkly with her initial appearance. This striking transformation not only showcased her versatility as a performer but also underscored the essence of burlesque itself—its ability to surprise, to play with personas, and to captivate an audience through the art of transformation. The removal of the corset, followed by a finale with black ostrich fans, was a masterstroke in performance art, leaving the audience both exhilarated and eager for more. Holli Daze, stepping out from Hull Harlots, ventured into the spotlight for her inaugural solo performance, enchanting the audience with the Marilyn Monroe classic, "I Wanna Be Loved By You". Adorned in a captivating pink tassel skirt paired with a pink bra and complemented by pristine white gloves and a stole, her appearance was the epitome of vintage glamour. As the music serenaded the air, Holli Daze's performance unfolded with a magnetic allure, each movement and gesture executed with a grace that held the audience spellbound. With a flair for the dramatic, she artfully removed her stole and gloves, building anticipation. The climax of her act saw the graceful reveal of her pasties, a nod to the traditions of burlesque that celebrates the art of tease. Holli Daze's performance was not just a debut, it was a declaration of her presence in the burlesque scene, a blend of elegance, sensuality, and the timeless appeal of Monroe's persona. Her confidence shone through, marking her as a Heartthrob Harlot whose future performances are eagerly awaited. Through her captivating routine, Holli Daze not only honoured the legacy of burlesque but also carved a niche for herself, promising a bright and dazzling future in the art form.

Emerald Divine's entrance onto the stage was nothing short of breathtaking, encapsulating the sheer beauty and finesse that burlesque embodies. Her attire, a stunning black corset paired with a black and gold skirt, complemented by black fishnet tights and matching shoes, radiated a level of sophistication and elegance that was both captivating and awe-inspiring. The addition of exquisite gold fans only added to the allure, creating a visual spectacle that was a feast for the eyes.

As La Vie En Rose began to play, Emerald Divine took command of the stage, her movements perfectly synchronised with the music's rhythm, her performance embodying the romance and charm of the song. With every step and turn, she invited the audience into a world where grace and allure reigned supreme, her mastery over her craft evident in the precision of her choreography and the effortless way she engaged with the onlookers.

Her performance was a testament to the artistry that burlesque offers, an amalgamation of visual storytelling and physical expression that captures the imagination and ignites the senses. Through her captivating routine, Emerald Divine not only honoured the traditions of burlesque but elevated them, demonstrating how elegance and performance artistry intertwine to create something truly magical. It was a reminder of the power of burlesque to enchant and mesmerise, making her solo debut an unforgettable highlight of the evening.

Known for her enchanting presence, she did not disappoint, embarking on a performance set to the soulful melodies of "River". Her back initially turned to the enraptured audience, she leaned provocatively against a chair, setting the stage for what would become a riveting display of burlesque artistry. As the first notes filled the air, Femme Fatal unleashed a torrent of energy that was both mesmerising and intense.

Her outfit, a dazzling ensemble consisting of a blue jacket, sequin gloves, and a pink skirt, was systematically removed in a tease that was both elegant and electrifying. Each item discarded revealed yet another layer of her captivating persona, culminating in the reveal of a pristine white bodice that perfectly accentuated her form. Donning their burlesque finery, the duo embarked on an enthralling performance that was as much a visual feast as it was a tribute to the iconic film. Clad in black corsets, ingeniously worn with the backs to the front, and complemented by red PVC gloves, black knickers, and fishnets, they embodied the spirit of both rebellion and allure synonymous with the movie. Their performance was a carefully choreographed blend of individual prowess and duo dynamics, marked by lip-syncing precision and the dramatic use of black boas that added an extra layer of theatrics and charm. The pair moved with a synchronicity that captured the attention of the audience, delivering a performance that was both a nod to the film's eccentricity and a showcase of their own unique talents in the Burlesque With Paris realm. From Selby Sirens, her initial stance, with her back to the crowd, promised a performance laced with intrigue and suspense. As 'Being Evil Has A Price' filled the air, she unleashed the dramatic flair of black isis wings, a gesture that sent a collective chill through the spectators. It was a spectacle designed to thrill, and thrill it did. Jaja L'amore's transformation, from the shadowy figure clad in black to a vibrant vision in red, was a masterstroke in theatrical storytelling through dance.

Her choice of song, 'Black Velvet', perfectly complemented her appearance, dressed as she was in a sophisticated knee-length dress paired with long, sleek black gloves. These elements combined to present an image of classic glamour yet promised a performance brimming with Lucious Lizzie's signature playful allure. Known far and wide for her unparalleled skill in executing the most captivating bum rolls, she did not disappoint. With each movement, Lizzie infused the routine with a sense of fun and cheekiness that is often imitated but never quite duplicated.
