HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO OUR FABULOUS FOLLIES

It’s been 5 years since Featherstone Follies opened and although we have missed a lot of class time over the past couple of years with the pandemic we have still managed to keep the burlesque feeling alive with our Zoomets online classes and have made up for the lost time when we have been able to be in class together.

The ladies in this class are just simply amazing and it’s a pleasure to be in class with them all each and every week. They’re all so committed and an absolute credit to me in so many ways. Classes are so much fun with them all and they are always happy and smiling each and every week, striving to show the world what incredible individuals they all are!

Sadly the Follies class had to close down on 17th March 2020 which was when the whole of the UK was getting ready to go into lockdown and staying at home to stay safe. Although we did have the Zoomets during the pandemic there were so many things that we all had to miss out on.

On the 8th of June 2021, we were able to reopen Featherstone Follies, and our fabulous fun Tuesday nights have continued ever since. We have had the pleasure of welcoming new ladies into the class and making lots of magical memories along the way.

They have all really enjoyed all the routines they have learned and loved dancing with all the different props that they have danced with. Over the 2 years when we have been able to be in class together they have learned:

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - Ostrich Fans

We were able to hold our Annual Show on the 12th of November 2021 at Drax Sports and Social Club which was amazing. It was definitely the best Annual show we have ever hosted and everyone worked so hard with all of their show performances. Featherstone Follies performed their fabulous Cell Block Tango routine and won the Best Group Performance. There were also solo performances from Coral Kisses, Lucious Lizzie, Lusty L’Amour, Cupid Stunt, and a spectacular double act from Skarlet Fury who performed with Busty Babycakes from the Featherstone Foxes. They were all absolutely amazing and they all made me so proud.

Featherstone Follies Class Awards - Annual Show - 12th November 2021 - Madam Von Taffly, Lucious Lizzie and Emerald Fuego

Our Class Awards for the Follies class for 2021 went to, Star Of The Class 2021 - Lucious Lizzie, Miss Dedicated 2021 - Emerald Fuego, and Miss Most Improved 2021 - Madam Von Taffly. All 3 of our Fabulous Follies deserved their awards and really have worked so hard and grown in confidence throughout the past 2 years. It has been incredible to watch them blossom into the Fabulous Follies that they are.

They even won Best Class Performance 2021 which made the night even more magical for them all as Cell Block Tango is their most famous, and favourite class performing routine.

On the 6th of May 2022, we hosted our first Student Showcase Show at the Girnhill Club which is our home for the Fabulous Follies class, and what a fantastic night it was. Coral Kisses, Roxy Starr, Cupid Stunt, and Emerald Fuego took to the stage to perform their spectacular performances along with other performers from other classes. It was a show to remember and a night that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in our audience.

On the 12th of November 2022, it was the Annual Showtime at Drax Sports and Social Club. It was a fabulous night and amazing to see all of our burlesque lovelies perform on stage. Unfortunately, Featherstone Follies did not perform as a class group on stage but there were some spectacular performances from some of our Fabulous Follies. They were all magnificent performances and the audience roared with applause for them all.

Our Class Awards were mixed this year for the Sirens and Starlets classes together as we merged the classes when we started practicing the class Annual Show routine. The class awards for 2022 went to, Star Of The Class 2022 - Ruby July, Miss Dedicated 2022 - Lola Sparkles, and Miss Most Improved 2022 - Cupid Stunt. All 3 of our Fabulous Follies and Fantastic Foxes deserved their awards and have grown in confidence throughout the past 2 years. It has been incredible to watch them blossom into the Fabulous Follies and Fantastic Foxes that they are.

I Can’t Believe It Has Been 5 Years Since This Class Opened But What An Incredible 5 Years It Has Been With You All. Thank You For All Of The Giggles, Wiggles, And Fabulous Fun That We Have Together Each And Every Week, And Thank You For Making My Job As Spectacular As You All Do. I Am So Looking Forward To Spending Another Fabulous Fun Year With You All.
