Six Spectacular Years of Style, Strength, and Siren Energy
This year marked six sensational years of the Selby Sirens, a much-loved and ever-evolving class within the Burlesque With Paris community.
Over these six years, the Selby Sirens have become a central and cherished part of the community, enchanting audiences with their cohesion, creativity, and unmistakable flair. The camaraderie within the class has always been at the heart of everything they do, creating a supportive and uplifting environment where confidence flourishes, and burlesque artistry truly shines.
Term 1 - Cover Me In Sunshine
A Year of Unforgettable Burlesque Routines
The Selby Sirens enjoyed a vibrant and creatively rich year, with each term offering new routines, props, and performance styles that encouraged growth in confidence, technique, and expression.
Term One opened the year with Cover Me In Sunshine, featuring the soft elegance of silk veil fans. This routine brought an ethereal quality to the studio, allowing the Sirens to explore fluid movement, musicality, and gentle storytelling through dance.
Term Two introduced seductive sophistication with Love For Sale. Using umbrellas as a striking prop, the Sirens focused on character, controlled movement, and playful tease, creating a routine that felt both confident and captivating.
Term Three brought sparkle and energy to the studio with Showtime Hustle. Shimmering sequin skirts and gloves added showgirl glamour as the Sirens delivered a vibrant routine full of polish, personality, and stage confidence.
Term Four shifted the mood to playful flirtation with Feeling Good. Featuring boas, this routine encouraged expressive performance and dynamic prop work, allowing the Sirens to lean into cheeky charm and confident presence.
Term Five returned to refined elegance with Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps. Working with ostrich fans, the Sirens explored grace, poise, and classic burlesque tease, creating a beautifully polished and atmospheric routine.
Term Six celebrated timeless glamour with Putting On The Ritz. This classic number allowed the Sirens to fully embrace traditional burlesque styling, showcasing elegance, control, and a strong sense of performance quality.
Term Seven was a standout term, featuring two contrasting show routines. The first, Sway, saw a return to silk veil fans, creating a fluid and captivating performance. The second routine, I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You, combined ostrich fans and gloves with a stunning rose petal pour, resulting in a truly memorable and visually striking piece.
Term Eight brought the year to a festive close with Holly Jolly Christmas. Featuring gloves and Santa hats, this routine delivered playful energy and seasonal cheer, rounding off the year with joy and sparkle.
Each term brought its own challenges and triumphs, with the Selby Sirens continuing to push their creativity and refine their skills. Their commitment and enthusiasm were evident throughout the year, making every routine a celebration of growth and artistic expression.

Term 2 - Love For Sale
A New Venue and Fresh Opportunities
This year also marked an exciting new chapter as the Selby Sirens moved to Selby Community Centre for their weekly classes.
The new venue offered a larger, more comfortable space that easily accommodated the growing class, along with improved parking facilities that made attending sessions more convenient. The additional space allowed for greater freedom of movement, opening up new creative possibilities within choreography and group work.
With more room to explore movement and formations, the Sirens were able to develop routines with increased confidence and cohesion. The central location of Selby Community Centre also made the class more accessible, welcoming a wider range of dancers and strengthening connections within the local community.
The move proved to be a turning point, creating fresh opportunities for growth, creativity, and connection within the Selby Sirens.

Selby Sirens Shine at The Revelry of Tease
The Selby Sirens lit up the stage at The Revelry of Tease on the 11th of May 2024 at Doncaster Little Theatre, delivering an evening filled with confidence, talent, and captivating burlesque performances.
Cherry Dynamite mesmerised the audience with her solo performance to The Man, delivering charisma, flair, and commanding stage presence. Lola Sparkles followed with an enchanting performance to I Should Be So Lucky, showcasing expressive movement, playful energy, and impeccable timing.
The Selby Sirens delivered two powerful solo performances, each infused with their signature style and personality. The atmosphere in the theatre was electric, with enthusiastic applause and cheers filling the space throughout the evening.
The sell-out show was a clear reflection of the continued support within the Burlesque With Paris community and the growing popularity of the Selby Sirens.

Highlights from the 2024 Burlesque Ball - 16th November
The 2024 Burlesque Ball at Doncaster Little Theatre was a truly unforgettable evening, with the Selby Sirens delivering breathtaking performances throughout the night.
Class routines included the graceful silk veil fan performance to Sway and the emotionally rich I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You, which combined ostrich fans, gloves, and a stunning rose petal pour. This beautifully crafted routine went on to win Best Class Performance of the night.
Solo and duet performances added depth and variety to the evening. Pink Champagne delivered a powerful rendition of World On Fire. Bella Diamond and Pixie Dust brought dynamic energy with their duet, combining I Want To Break Free and Man I Feel Like A Woman. Miss Mona delivered a bold and compelling performance to I Wanna Be Your Slave.
The audience was also captivated by Harley Queen’s energetic performance to Fat Bottomed Girls. Lola Sparkles delivered an evocative rendition of Pink, while Cherry Dynamite brought a modern edge with her performance to Chinchilla, blending contemporary flair with classic burlesque elements.
Each performance highlighted the range, versatility, and creativity within the Selby Sirens, making the Burlesque Ball Part Two a true highlight of their year.

Class Awards and Achievements
The year concluded with the Selby Sirens celebrating individual and collective achievements at the Class Awards 2024.
Miss Mona was awarded Star of the Class 2024 in recognition of her outstanding performances and commitment. Miss Dedicated 2024 was presented to Harley Queen for her consistency and passion. Miss Most Improved 2024 was awarded to Vanilla Silk, celebrating her inspiring journey of growth and confidence.
The Selby Sirens also celebrated their success as a group, with I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You winning Best Class Performance 2024. Lola Sparkles was a double award winner, receiving Best Solo Performance 2024 and being crowned Miss Star of Burlesque With Paris 2024.
These awards reflect the dedication, talent, and supportive spirit that define the Selby Sirens.
