Happy 1st Anniversary - Featherstone Foxes
Happy 1st anniversary to my Fantastic Foxes. I can not believe it has been a year since our very first class, it has gone by so quick but it has been a magical year full of glorious memories….
Featherstone Foxes are an amazing class full of supportive remarkable ladies who are inspiring. They laugh together, cry together, and are such a friendly bunch of ladies who have grown in confidence and blossomed into the Fantastic Foxes that they are.
We had our Annual Show which was on the 9th of November 2019 at Drax Social Club. All of our Fantastic Foxes took to the stage to perform their class routine which was a massive achievement as their class had only been open for 9 weeks. Not only did they perform, but they all also went down to pasties and came second in the class group performance awards. I have to say their Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps routine was amazing and they all looked the part in all their burlesque finery.
We even had a spectacular solo performance from Ja Ja Lamore who blew the audience away with her solo extravaganza performance.
Her new title is the burlesque mummy to me, Paris Chantilly, which I really don’t mind. Ja Ja Lamore is a legend in the making and such a remarkable lady to have in the Featherstone Foxes class.
The Annual Show was the Greatest Show we have done so far with 240 guests in the audience who said it was an incredible show to watch.
They have all really enjoyed all the routines they have learned and loved dancing with all the different props that they have danced with. So far they have learned:
Welcome To Burlesque - Gloves and Boas
Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps - Ostrich Fans
Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps - Annual Show Routine
But I Am A Good Girl - Gloves, Skirts, and Chair
Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps - Student Showcase Routine
They all really enjoyed the Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps routine they performed at the Annual Show, so we decided they would perform it again at the Student Showcase show with a few alterations here and there as the stage was allot smaller. All of the Foxes adapted to the new version of their routine and were all working really hard when sadly the show was stopped and had to be postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. I know when we can reorganize the show they will be explosive on that stage and be the Fantastic Foxes that they are. It’s going to be a spectacular evening for everyone to look forward to.
Sadly the Foxes class had to close down on 17th March which was when the whole of the UK was getting ready to go into lockdown and staying at home to stay safe.
During the lockdown, some of our Fantastic Foxes joined the Zoomets online dance class which started on the 4th of May. It was a fabulous mixture of ladies from all of my classes including 4 of my Fantastic Foxes.
Our Monday evenings were the highlight of all of our weeks with fitbit’s vibrating and the creativity of props to use to dance with was extraordinary. They have learned:
That Man - Trilby Hats, Wedding Hats, Straw Hats, and Baseball Caps
S&M - Floggers (Handmade & Bought) and Tea Towels
Candyman - Dancing Cane, Hoover Pipe, Metre Wooden Ruler, and Garden Cane.
Some of our Fantastic Foxes took part in our Quarantease Lounge Shows which we have hosted during the lockdown. We had 5 solo performers from the Featherstone Foxes class who entertained our viewers live from their very own living rooms. They were spectacular shows and everyone did so well taking part in them and adapting to the new show life of Quarantease Lounge and Burlesque Shows.
We have managed to reopen our Fantastic Featherstone Foxes class again on the 25th of August and it has been so lovely for us all to be together again and dancing in class again. We have had the pleasure of welcoming new ladies into the class and now have the excitement of starting a whole new year full of fabulous fun routines and making lots of magical memories along the way.
We reopened the Featherstone Foxes class with their favourite routine and they have started back learning:
Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps - Ostrich Fans
We have had to relocate on a temporary basis to Farmer Copleys until we can return to the Girnhill Working Men’s Club but the main thing is we can all be together again.
