Welcome to Hull Harlots, where we proudly celebrate two fabulous years of dance, laughter, and empowerment through burlesque. As we mark this special second anniversary, it is the perfect moment to reflect on the incredible journey we have shared as a community. From learning new routines in class to stepping confidently onto the stage, the past year has been filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories.

A Year Of Dazzling Burlesque Routines

Over the past twelve months, Hull Harlots have immersed themselves in the vibrant and expressive world of burlesque, exploring a wide range of styles that have challenged, inspired, and empowered every dancer. Each term introduced a new focus, allowing confidence, skill, and stage presence to flourish.

The year began with Term 1 Classic Burlesque, where dancers embraced elegance and timeless tease through I Just Want To Make Love To You, mastering gloves and boas while building strong foundations in control and character. Energy intensified in Term 2 Bump and Grind Burlesque with Fire In My Head, incorporating gloves and capes to explore sultry movement and bold musicality.

In Term 3 Feather Fan Burlesque, the Harlots performed Smash using ostrich fans, learning precision, drama, and the striking visual impact of fan work. Confidence continued to grow in Term 4 Neo Burlesque, as the class pushed boundaries with S&M, embracing attitude, storytelling, and unapologetic self expression.

The latter half of the year brought theatrical flair with Term 5 Broadway Burlesque, dancing to All That Jazz with trilby hats and fringe skirts, blending musical theatre style with burlesque charm. Term 6 Broadway Burlesque followed with Hey Big Spender, performed without props, allowing dancers to focus purely on character, confidence, and commanding the stage through movement alone.

The year concluded with festive glamour in Term 7 Showgirl Burlesque, where the class delivered a show stopping performance of Santa Baby, again without props, showcasing just how far their technique, confidence, and stage presence had evolved.

Throughout the year, Hull Harlots have not only learned choreography but have fully embodied the spirit of burlesque, fostering creativity, self expression, and a strong sense of camaraderie that continues to define the group.

The Revelry of Tease on 25th March 2023 was a glittering highlight of the year, offering Hull Harlots the opportunity to shine on stage. Sugarboo, Scarlett Vixen, Fifi Whispers, Crystal Tips, Ruby Starr, and Helena Please captivated the audience with performances that reflected the skills and confidence developed in class.

From the sultry allure of Classic Burlesque to the dramatic energy of Broadway Burlesque, each performer brought her routine to life with confidence and individuality. The atmosphere was filled with support and celebration, highlighting the empowering platform Hull Harlots provides for dancers to express themselves freely and fearlessly.

Hull Harlots Shine At The 2023 Burlesque Ball

On 11th November 2023, the annual Burlesque Ball at Drax Sports and Social Club delivered an evening of glamour and celebration. Hull Harlots took to the stage with a stunning group routine to Hey Big Spender, capturing the essence of classic burlesque through polished choreography and collective confidence.

Under Paris Chantilly’s guidance, each Harlot brought her own flair to the performance, creating a routine that was both cohesive and enchanting. Their unity, energy, and charisma left a lasting impression and marked a proud moment in their burlesque journey.

The evening also celebrated individual brilliance, with solo performances from Sugarboo, Violet Grace, Madam Kink, Scarlett Vixen, and Ruby Starr. Each act showcased a unique interpretation of burlesque artistry, highlighting the depth and diversity of talent within the group. Sugarboo’s evocative solo earned her the award for Best Solo Performance of the evening, a moment of well deserved recognition.

The Hull Harlots Class Celebrations

The Hull Harlots Class Awards 2023 celebrated dedication, growth, and commitment within the class. Star of the Class was awarded to Amethyst Passion, recognising her enthusiasm, talent, and standout presence throughout the year. Miss Dedicated was presented to Honey Rouge, honouring her consistency, passion, and unwavering commitment. Miss Most Improved was awarded to Ruby Starr, celebrating her inspiring journey of growth and self development.

These awards reflect the supportive and nurturing environment fostered within Hull Harlots and Burlesque With Paris, where every dancer’s journey is valued and celebrated.
