As we celebrate our 2nd anniversary, it's time to reflect on the journey we have taken together over the past year. From classic routines to dazzling performances, it has been a year filled with boas, brilliance, and empowerment. Join us as we look back on the highlights of our burlesque journey with the Doncaster Divas.

Term 1 - I Just Want To Make Love To You

A Journey Begun With Boas And Brilliance

The formation of the Doncaster Divas two years ago marked the beginning of something truly special. What started as a weekly dance class quickly grew into a vibrant, supportive community brought together by a shared love of burlesque. Every Friday night became a space filled with anticipation, laughter, and creativity, as divas from all walks of life stepped into the studio ready to explore the art of tease.

Under the guidance of Paris Chantilly, the Doncaster Divas found more than choreography. They discovered confidence, built friendships, and embraced self expression without judgement. The studio became a sanctuary where individuality was celebrated and empowerment took centre stage. With feathers, sequins, and boas in hand, the Divas began a journey of transformation that extended far beyond the dance floor.

Term 7 - It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

A Year Of Spectacular Burlesque Routines

Over the past year, the Doncaster Divas explored a wide and exciting range of burlesque styles, with each term introducing new challenges that allowed confidence and performance skills to flourish.

The year began with Term 1 Classic Burlesque, where dancers embraced sultry elegance through I Just Want To Make Love To You, mastering gloves and boas while learning the foundations of tease and control. In Term 2 Feather Fan Burlesque, the Divas performed Smash using ostrich fans, focusing on precision, drama, and striking visual impact.

Bold energy took over in Term 3 Bump and Grind Burlesque with Fire In My Head, incorporating gloves and capes to explore attitude and musicality. This was followed by Term 4 Neo Burlesque, where creativity was pushed further with S&M, encouraging fearless expression and storytelling.

Theatrical flair arrived in Term 5 Broadway Burlesque as the class danced to All That Jazz, using trilby hats and fringe skirts to blend musical theatre with burlesque charm. In Term 6 Neo Burlesque, the Divas performed Venus with chiffon arm scarfs and cuffs, exploring fluidity, sensuality, and expressive movement.

The year concluded with festive glamour in Term 7 Feather Fan Burlesque, as the Divas performed It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas using ostrich fans, bringing sparkle, polish, and joy to the stage.

Each routine not only developed technique, but strengthened confidence, creativity, and connection within the group, marking a year of powerful growth.

The Glittering Burlesque Ball Of 2023

The Burlesque Ball at Drax Sports and Social Club was a standout highlight of the year, celebrating months of dedication and artistic development. The Doncaster Divas took to the stage adorned in their most glamorous attire, delivering a striking group performance to Venus that showcased unity, strength, and polished choreography.

The evening also featured captivating solo performances from Ruby Rose, Salacious Silk, and She She La Play, each bringing their own interpretation of burlesque artistry to the stage. These performances reflected personal journeys of growth and confidence, earning enthusiastic applause and admiration from the audience. The Burlesque Ball was a true celebration of creativity, empowerment, and community.

Dazzling Divas Class Celebrations

The Burlesque Ball also provided the perfect moment to celebrate the dedication and achievements of the Doncaster Divas through the Class Awards. Star of the Class was awarded to Salacious Silk, recognising her outstanding commitment, presence, and passion. Miss Dedicated was presented to Belladonna Rose, honouring her consistency, perseverance, and love for burlesque. Miss Most Improved was awarded to Beltane Bette, celebrating her remarkable growth and inspiring journey.

These awards reflect the supportive, encouraging environment that defines the Doncaster Divas. They celebrate effort, transformation, and the unwavering support the group offers one another.

Two Incredible Years Of Doncaster Divas
